I refer you to my name.

Summer is my least favourite season.

Bottom of the pile

Way below winter.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 16/06/2021 21:43

I'm currently 200 miles further south than I normally am and am hating that I'm here during the hottest time of the year (no choice). Actually walked around outside when we had 10 minutes of rain earlier and cannot wait to get back to the cooler northern weather.

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 21:45

I know I sound old, but summers of my youth were nice! ( 76 was hot , but nothing like this)
Maybe it's an age thing with me?
I Can't tolerate it at all.

Yes yes yes. Far too much today. Its got hotter and hotter from about 2.30 pm.

Coupled with night sweats, another crappy nights sleep in store. Bring on the thunder and rain!!!!

Passthecake30 · 16/06/2021 21:46

It’s pissing down here (Hertfordshire) you’ll all be happy soon!

cheeseisthebest · 16/06/2021 21:47

Hayfever and no air con in car. I am very miserable!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 16/06/2021 21:48

Our washing basket is empty because of the weather but yes, I hate being too hot as well. I bought a mist spray thing for my plants and flowers and it feels lovely when you fill it up with very cold water and spray it over your head!

Jocasta2018 · 16/06/2021 21:49

It's raining here now - started off light around 7pm & now quite heavy & steady.
I've got all the windows & doors open, downstairs & up - it sounds like one of those meditation rain forest tapes!
So I'm sitting on my doorstep, cuppa in hand, cat keeping me company & it's wonderful.
Yes the sun was marvellous & I got three loads of washing out & dry earlier today but heck, the garden needs the rain & I need to cook down!

DrEllie · 16/06/2021 21:50

So glad to have met my tribe. What do you even wear in this heat? And the insects. Bring on autumn, I adore the smells, colours and Halloween

LoopTheLoops · 16/06/2021 21:53

So glad to see others hate summer, I can’t stand it! It’s my worst season, always dread it, dreaming of September 😢

Wbeezer · 16/06/2021 21:58

You poor things, I'm in Central Scotland, it's been windy for the last few days and cool with sunny/rainy spells. I live in an old house that seems to take weeks to warm up, I've been wearing a jumper a and even had my electric blanket on briefly last night!
I don't have fond memories of London heat, everywhere seemed to smell of bin juice!

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2021 22:02

It's pouring down now!
The washing is safely indoors drying

Last summer after weeks of terrible sleep we bought an air con unit. Size of a small tumble dryer, switch it non, stick hose out of window and beautiful chilled air wafts around your house. Worth every single penny.

QueSeraSarah · 16/06/2021 22:10

It's pouring down here too, but still outrageously bloody hot 🥵

Ifonlyidknownthen · 16/06/2021 22:12

Used to love the warm weather but in recent years I've rapidly gone off it. Don't like sunburn, or clammy sweaty restless nights, don't like the kids being too warm and waking up several times a night, and this year I especially don't like my god awful hayfever. Roll on winter

How much was it if you don't mjnd me asking? And where from ?

I'm a permanent make up artist and would love one for my studio 🥵

Can you post a link to the model you have? I'd love one
hedgehogger1 · 16/06/2021 22:22

I'd be quite content with 20 degrees every day. Dry in the day, rain at night.

LittleCatDog · 16/06/2021 22:25

I got a Challenge 5K air con unit from Argos last year, anything over 20 degrees and I'm not happy! It wasn't cheap but feeling that cold cold air.. worth it.

DeadButDelicious · 16/06/2021 22:31

My people! I cannot stand being too hot! Anything above 20 just doesn't agree with me! 😂😂

It's been hideous here (north west) today but it's cooled down quite nicely this evening and looking at the weather app it's looking like it's going to be a more tolerable 17-18 tomorrow.

Bring. On. The. Rain.

Wagsandclaws · 16/06/2021 22:37

I've got my air con unit going too, It's borderline chilly in my bedroom now.

Go to the air con centre online - they have all sorts to suit all budgets and room sizes.

Enjoy the next few cool days!

TableDesk · 16/06/2021 22:38

18c is my temperate climate. Anything more hot clammy mess, hair sticking to my neck. Yuk. And what do you even wear?! I hate it!

Dreaming of crisp autumn mornings. Dresses, black tights & boots with a nip in the air!

Ugzbugz · 16/06/2021 22:40

Enjoy it on holiday but not in the UK. Fucking hate it

Everyone banging on about enjoying the sun and constantly being outside just fuck off.

AFS1 · 16/06/2021 22:41

I get to the first heatwave every year really regretting not sticking to my New Year diet. I’m such a fat, sweaty mess in the heat. I can’t wear cute summery clothes because I look like a heffalump so I’m stuck in cut-offs and t-shirts. Roll on the thunderstorm!

Abracadabra12345 · 16/06/2021 22:43

Same here. I spent a fabulous day in London, in a cool museum (fabulous exhibition) and expected to come out to baking heat. Instead it was nicely breezy and cloudy. By the time I got home to Essex, it was stifling. London is usually hotter than us, this time it’s been cookery.

My ndn went away for a few days last week and it was so peaceful, I loved the summery sounds around- kids playing in pools, people relaxing in their gardens. Now he’s back and the music gets switched on 😬
