If they are detained under s136 or harm themselves and end up in a&e? Just talking to a friend about it and I would imagine they always are due to safeguarding.

I attended hospital under the age of 18 several times for self harm and was never admitted or even referred to camhs or similar. I attended several times on my own aged 16/17 and my parents were ever informed, I received no mental health involvement and no follow-up from GP. I was just stitched up and sent on my way, including the times I turned up intoxicated.

Not all kids in care, or who self harm need to be kept away from their family..
Ill never forgive the authorities for what they did to us.
It'll take years to build it back up.
