Right way to wear rings

Ok so I know this is a silly question and doesn't matter to much but it's something that I'm a bit conscious about so want to see people's opinions.
Just had my rings altered, my engagement is a thin band with a cluster diamond. My wedding ring is a thick ring with diamond stamps.
Since having them altered they both fit perfectly, however because my wedding ring is so thick it makes my engagement ring look a bit tight because it sits higher up on my finger and makes my finger look like it's got a muffin top Blush
Would it look completely ridiculous to wear my engagement ring below my wedding ring??

I don’t even have an engagement ring. Never wanted one. So I just have my wedding ring and that’s it. There are no “rules”.

Lecydda - we're 20 years in and virtually every single Christmas card still arrives addressed to Mr and Mrs DHSurname, despite the fact that I use Ms Ownsurname 100% of the time.

My engagement ring is a bit loose so I wear the wedding band on top. No one has commented in five years.

@aibubaby

Also how does it work on your wedding day if you're wearing them the traditional way, do people take their engagement rings off for the day and then put them back on? At the altar during the exchange? Or just switch them after?
Yes. You wear your engagement ring on your other hand and then put it back at some point after the wedding. Hence the wedding ring being first as you're not meant to take it off.

Having said that mine are engagement, wedding then eternity ring. They never come off.

I thought that at marriage the engagement ring moved to the fourth finger on the right hand. I don't know where I got this from, but I do think wearing two rings on the same finger is a bit of a clash.

You wear the wedding ring first, as you’re not meant to take it off. The engagement ring sits on top of that si you can take it off whwb you’re digging for gold or building a brick wall....

Haven't read the whole thread, but I also wear them the 'wrong' way round Hmm for three reasons.

A friend commented on it on day one that it was the wrong way round. Fuck that, I'll wear them whatever way I want!
And secondly, the first ring I got went on, the second went on after that. It just makes logical sense to put engagement first and wedding second. Grin
Finally my ring cost 11k so I see the wedding ring as a small security against it flinging off and losing it!

ConstanceGracy · 15/06/2021 20:22

I always put my engagement ring on first as that’s the one I got first!
Nothing strange about it

I purposely chose a wedding band that was shaped around my engagement ring so it fits well.
