I think I preferred the age 2.

The fucking moaning is nails down a blackboard

Cried after nursery drop-off because of my three year old today. So glad to read this thread today and realise it’s not just me.

Oh god my 3 year old does not stop bloody whinging. He’s currently on the sofa whinging that he’s tired but doesn’t want a nap. I’m in the playroom setting up a painting activity for him. I’ve just shouted through “sorry mummy can’t understand a whingey voice!”

He carried on whinging but it made me feel better 😭

I was so smug when he was 2...

Crunchymum · 10/06/2021 14:15

Mine is speech delayed so doesn't have many words (they are starting to come now though - yay!)

Non verbal whining is no fun either Shock

I definitely found 3 harder than 2 with my older ones as well. 4 was much better.

mightbealittlebitmad · 10/06/2021 14:27

3 is definitely worse than 2. Both of mine were lovely aged 2 but the second they turn 3 they become naughty and an absolute pain.

They are almost 4 and almost 6 now and the eldest isn't much better. He's dramatic and stroppy and thinks he knows everything.

With him I loved newborn to 2, he was so easy to deal with and never any trouble. The second was similar but the newborn phase was a bit crap because he was permanently grumpy until about 8 weeks. He was lovely until about 3 but it's kind of over shadowed by the troubles of the other one!

Could have written this today, my son will be 3 next month and the last 2 weeks he has turned into a whiney monster!

BrownEyedGirl80 · 10/06/2021 14:42

Threenagers is the correct term Grin

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2021 14:49

Teens are hard going, but at least you can reason with them ( a bit ) and explain why they can't do xy or z etc. I found it hard , but not as difficult as toddlers were.

Also cried after dropping my 4 year old at nursery this morning. In fact I've cried pretty much all week she's a nightmare at the moment I'm dreading the Summer holidays Sad.

4 year olds are just as bad honestly my daughter turned 4 last month and I was thinking great, at least we are past the difficult years but nope, she screamed for ages the other day because she couldn’t wear her sandals to the park.... that NO longer fit!! Even though she’s got so many others that do, these ones were now too tight but she screamed and screamed because she only wanted to wear those ones! We didn’t even end up going!

😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😊 N0PE !

My children found that a certain tone of voice/choice of words was just totally inaudible. By me.

Ducksurprise · 10/06/2021 15:05

I refused to answer if the word mum has more than one U.

RosesAndHellebores · 10/06/2021 15:06

I found life with toddlers to be more a case of the frightful frees than the terrible twos tbh. Enjoy the halcyon days of 6 to 12 and then brace for the teenage years. Mine are very nice now they are approaching their mid 20s.

riotlady · 10/06/2021 15:06

Omg mine has the most irritating way of saying mummmmAAAYYYYY that makes me want to gouge my ears out.

Constantly melting down because I didn’t psychically know that she wanted to flush the toilet for me/she has to eat from the pink plate/she left her toy helicopter in the sink

SuperbOwls · 10/06/2021 15:14

Oh threenagers are the worst, it's so much harder than the terrible twos

SummerInSun · 10/06/2021 16:07

3 year olds are harder than 2 year olds. It's a myth it gets better after 2. Once they hit 4, it's a steady improvement. (Mine aren't teenagers yet though, so may get worse again!)

englaland · 10/06/2021 16:44

I'm currently being a grey rock.

I'm trying to starve this behaviour until it dies!
