... to ask you about my hot neck?

Inspired by another thread about pillows - does anyone else get incredibly hot around the neck while sleeping? And what can be done about it?

I sleep on my front with my arm under my forehead/face, can’t sleep any other way. Over the last few years I’ve found myself waking up running with sweat around my neck on random occasions. Even if that doesn’t happen to that extent, my neck is just boiling! It’s driving me mad and giving me eczema.

The rest of me isn’t as hot. I’ve got to the point of having the sheet or duvet pulled up to half way up my back and leaving my shoulders uncovered but it still happens. Occasionally I end up sleeping without a pillow which helps but is uncomfortable.

I don’t think it’s hot flushes but could be peri I guess. I’m mid forties and on the mini pill so would imagine my hormone levels are fairly stable?

Anyone have a suggestion for a very cold pillow or other solution?

You can get chillows. They're cooling pads, I think the pressure cools them (you don't have to put them in fridge or anything). I find them quite uncomfortable in the actual pillow case, so tend to just lie on one if I start overheating at night.

When it's really hot I put a picnic type ice pack under my top pillow so I can just flip it over as and when needed.
