I'm in so much pain at work desperate to go home never had a period so heavy and painful. I feel bad leaving as their is only me and another girl on until the other girls come in later.

What kind of excuse can I use to go home I've only been here a couple of months so don't want it to look bad on me!

@Iceniii

Have you already tried painkillers and basics like heat? I as a manager would expect you to manage the pain if you are able to do so. If you've tried those and it is still too painful for you to feel you can work then yes you should go home.

You don't sound like you are talking about an adult here.

The OP says she can't be bothered to take paracetamol to see if they help with the pain.

Given that would be the first thing most people would do when confronted with period pain unless they have other mitigating reasons why they can't take painkillers, I think the question is justified.

If you are in a hospital, can't you get better pain relief? Most employers are not particularly understandable at taking time off unless it's contagious

I took it to mean thatOP couldn’t be bothered with being spoken to like an idiot and fobbed off with ‘see how you feel later’ when she’s already feeling too unwell to be there, not that she couldn’t be arsed to pop a painkiller Confused

I would take some pain meds and see whether I felt in 30 mins.

@RunningFromInsanity

You couldn’t be bothered to try painkillers to kill your pain?

I’m thinking the period pain was just an excuse to skip work becaue you don’t like your manager, and that doesn’t reflect well on women at all.

She didn’t mean she can’t be bothered to take painkillers!

Why would you look for the worst possible interpretation?!
