Aches after having babies?

Wondering if anyone else had the same. A year after the birth of my second child my feet (and legs) are very achey. Even if I don’t do much during the day the feet (front part mostly not the heel) still hurt quite a bit by the end of the day but if I do (eg an hours walk) they really hurt. I feel like an old woman even though I’m only in my early 30s. The trigger seems to have been the pregnancy but it still hasn’t subsided a year on.

Are you still breastfeeding? Breastfeeding keeps the ligaments and joints loose like in pregnancy, so you may be quicker to tire or overstretch more easily.

I had the same as well as other problems and it was an under active thyroid.

Get your vitamin D levels checked and start taking some magnesium supplements as well. I found the magnesium helped more than the vit d.

Yes, but I used to exercise a lot and eat very healthily before pregnancy (well, before birth) and I’m not as fit these days, and a couple of stone heavier. I still run and lift weights a bit, but not as much as I used to and I ache more afterwards, never seeming to get used to it even if it’s a very relaxed session.

That’s interesting @Sh05 as I now take a vitamin supplement and need to get more consistent with it, it slips my mind some days.

Thanks, not breastfeeding. Have started vitamin d supplements about a week ago. Will look into magnesium too

Worth speaking to your GP if the supplements don't help, they can run some blood tests

I have similar too...especially first thing in the morning. Seems a lot worse when I've been eating badly. As it didn't seem to be getting worse, I just chalked it up to item 4,378 of pregnancy/post pregnancy that they don't tell you about. Youngest is 2.5, but it definitely started post first pregnancy.

Might have to better at taking vitamin d!!!
