Why is it that anything somebody famous, or a SM influencer, does has to be a 'hack'? Brand new and shiny, that no-one's ever thought of before, and you MUST try NOW?

Things I have read today...

Duchess Kate (and while I'm getting riled up, why do the glossies and newspapers still insist on calling her Kate Middleton, when she hasn't been that for over 10 years?), anyhow, apparently she uses a face flannel to remove her makeup. Well who knew you could do that? But because Kate does it it's a hack and we're all stupid for not realising that we could do it too. Well let's face it, we obviously didn't, but now that KATE does it...

Stacey Solomon used something that wasn't a bathroom shelf as a bathroom shelf (it was a plastic shoe rack). Yup, that was Stacey's 'genius hack' for bathroom storage.

Apparently it's a hack to put a sock over your hand to clean venetian blinds. My grandmother used to do that. But no, somebody's just thought of it and called it a hack.

And it's a beauty 'hack' to use cream blusher instead of powder because it's quicker. Well blow me down with a feather. How could I have been so dumb as to not have worked it out for myself about 20 years ago??? I mean, wake up and get with the programme Feeding.

Anyone else got any? Or shall I quietly mutter to myself in a corner?

Brandon Farris is another youtuber who "tests" hacks. He's loud but so funny.

The worst "hack" I saw recently was for if your bra straps show under a piece of clothing. You undo and adjust the straps so they are halter neck/racer back/cross over etc. Et voila.
Only that's not a hack. You need a bra with the removable straps. And then that's just doing what it's intended to do. Not really a hack then. Hmm

Female slebs who write baby books as soon as they become mums annoy me

My DSis is in her 50s and she picks up cleaning hacks from Mrs Hinch. I say to her “You’ve been cleaning your house before Hinch was born. What can she possibly teach you?” Also she buys cloths that Hinch uses despite having a cupboard full of cloths that are just as good! 😂

I just stand by to flap a tea towel at the smoke alarm and hand her the cornflakes when it's all over.

Great hack! Instead of buying an electric fan to waft it away! (Not a dig at you, just used your comment to have a dig at the hacks people)

The funniest one I came across was in a magazine. Warm your hands after a chilly winter walk by making a cup of tea with 2 tea bags, placing the wet tea bags in sandwich bags and then holding one in each hand.

Presumably nobody's ever thought of making the tea and wrapping your hand round the mug while you drink it? Well no, of course, otherwise it wouldn't be a hack it would just be sensible. How silly of us not to realise that we could turn it into a HACK.

My favourite hack was how to avoid paying for carrier bags when the charge was first brought in.

This amazing hack was ....... bring your own bag!

Someone missed the entire point of the bag charge Grin

Australian food scientist and dietician Ann Reardon's YouTube channel "How to Cook That" has been testing out popular social media cooking hacks lately.

I like her a lot.

She tells you exactly why it's dangerous/bullshit/gross/won't work.

Her husband is on hand to taste test the results. The poor bugger. He is a good sport but lately has started to eye her with growing suspicion when she comes towards him with a blindfold carrying a plate.
