Genuine question- does the birthday girl still blow out the candles? Tomorrow we host our first social event since the beginning of Lockdown 1. Do we fry her blow out the candles or is that icky?

My nephew had his on a cupcake too. Cake separate...

Seriously?! You are over thinking this.
Go out in the garden and let the birthday girl blow her candles out there if it really bothers you.
Children have missed out on so much over the past year it's time to let them have a bit of normality.

To be honest, I think the candles are the least of your daughter's problems. Please don't fry her, that's really not good parenting.

Garman

I was at a birthday party last week and didn't think about this! The birthday boy did blow out his candles and then everyone ate the cake (I didn't but that's just because it wasn't a nice cake lol). These people have basically ignored Covid though so I'm not surprised now I realise it.

😞😞

Thanks for all your advice. Don't want to over think it but want to be reassuring to others at the same time. We may go for a cup cake but it will have to be a bought one as I haven't finished decorating the Hufflepuff (ironic!) cake yet. The Golden Snitches haven't dried yet.
