Aibu to be annoyed with the neighbours who are unable to close a door without slamming it.

It’s a minimum of 22 times a day

I genuinely feel for you. Unfortunately the police and local councils do not seem to understand or appreciate the affect it can have.

Really wishing you all the best if you do decide to move. Hope both of us manage to find decent neighbours wherever we end up! x

That's not good about him being abusive as well, OP. It makes the annoyance worse knowing that, you must be on edge.
I feel my NDN is a 'wrong 'un' somehow, I just get that gut feeling. Trouble is, if someone wants to smash up their brand new kitchen by constantly slamming the doors, there's not really a lot you can do about it. If I was his OH, I'd be hopping mad but I get the impression he probably bullies her a bit...

Please what foam things are those .
I have 3 door slammers too.

Top tip alert!
You can use a double layered face mask as a door stopper. Make a slit, stuff with sock or similar, hang ear loops on door handles either side of door.

Might be my household, my family cannot close a door quietly

My neighbour slams a door every night so loud at around 11pm. I swear she does it to annoy me. I can never get an early night as it jolts me awake and then I’m too angry to get back to sleep. So I sometimes slam a door back a couple of times - petty I know but it makes me feel a little better !

Apologies for bringing an old thread back but was "glad" to read others sharing this problem. So often I have family say to basically "just deal with it" when I've been to their houses where they claim they have noisy neighbours yet it's always been so quiet and peaceful(even when I've spent days with them).

Like others have said, trying to go correct through council etc. is useless. They refuse to class it as nuisance noise despite all the studies showing the negative health impacts it has. We're stuck in a council property with no escape.

Being petty or even somewhat aggressive(via noise) is all we have left it seems. My thinking is if you can get them to complain against you then they're forced to admit noise can be a problem rather than thinking we should just shrug it off or accept their disturbances.
