I have my notes which I now regret. Throughout them they keep referring to me as a patient with eupd. As far as I’m aware I’ve never been diagnosed with eupd just eupd traits. Which I’ve also challenged as I know that’s not actually a diagnoses in its self. Eg crisis due to eupd etc.

As I’m not actually diagnosed with eupd and eupd traits isn’t a diagnosis can I go to pals about it?

You've started a lot of threads about the notes you requested. I can see why it might be helpful to speak to others about your experience but it would probably make more sense to speak with your care team (psychiatrist, GP, CPN etc) who can answer specific questions about why things are noted a certain way.

I haven’t currently got anyone professional I can speak to as they are on leave.

You won't get an immediate answer. Call the service and ask to make an appointment to discuss your notes.

I think your situation is relatively common: when I worked with a mental health charity we referred to “people with a supposed diagnosis of BPD or EUPD” rather than “people with BPD or EUPD”, because so many service users disagreed with their diagnosis or didn’t believe they had ever been formally diagnosed.

Have you contacted any mental health organisations for support? They can help advocate for you and signpost you down the right road if you want to challenge your diagnosis; or help you come to terms with it and live with it.

@Timber54446

I haven’t currently got anyone professional I can speak to as they are on leave.
But they cannot all be on long term leave, or they would nominate someone else as a contact point. It is not urgent that you go through the notes. Do you have a mh support worker or is there a local charity which supports those with mh issues?

Who is them?!

YABU, who ever they are could be very busy and dropping ‘traits’ is not a big deal.

RattlesnakesUnfold · 04/06/2021 21:06

EUPD traits suggests you have EUPD on top of another condition eg depression/anxiety with EUPD traits.

EUPD often accompanies other diagnoses. ‘EUPD crisis’ is a common reason for short inpatient stays.

I have been diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type) which I agree with but also 'EUPD traits' which I like you OP do not agree with!

I've told my psychiatrist how I feel & he says it's no big deal & doesn't mean people will think I have the full blown disorder.

But I accidentally saw the screen with my list of diagnoses on at my GP surgery and they've just put 'personality disorder'.
I told my psychiatrist I'm not happy and can he tell them otherwise... it's insulting.
