Why can't I go to bed earlier? (Light-hearted)

Seriously, what is wrong with me? It's 00.18 and I'm lying on the sofa fully-clothed, writing rubbish posts on Mumsnet and half-watching a documentary about Auschwitz. Why am I not in bed, if not asleep? And I still have to wash up, have a shower, switch of stuff... I will never be in bed before 1. And this happens EVERY NIGHT!

I'm an idiot 😂

Evenings, when everyone is in bed, is the only time I get peace and so I have to make the most of it, I can't waste that time by going to bed. But I try to get everything done before 8pm (dishes, tidying etc.) so that I can relax knowing there's nothing else left to do.

I had to be up at 7.15 today to get to work for 8.45. It's easier this week because the kids and DH are on half term! But then they're going to bed later - and so am I!

I don't think I've been in bed before midnight since I was about 18. Except when I was having chemo, and I was in bed most of the time so I don't think that actually counts BlushWink

I'm definitely a revenge sleep procrastinator & still stay up till gone midnight even though i know I'll feel rubbish the next day. I'm trying to go to bed/sleep earlier but just wake up in the middle of the night & still feel rubbish the next day!!
