To think posting your product covered in mould is no way to advertise?

A local business is promoting themselves on local Fb pages, targeting families. The product they’re advertising is dirty and looks like part of it is covered in mould. There’s no way I’d let my children use it!
AIBU to think this is no way to promote something you want the public to come and use? Would you let your children on it? (It would probably be okay with a jet wash!)

It really depends upon what the product is!

Voomster953 · 31/05/2021 16:49

What is it? Confused

MrsClatterbuck · 31/05/2021 16:49

Need to know what the product is

VeniVidiWeeWee · 31/05/2021 16:49

It works for Brie.

PandemicPalava · 31/05/2021 16:54

If it's a sandwich - no
If it's play equipment which is weathered - maybe

Bluedelphinium · 31/05/2021 16:56

Ha was going to say YABU if its cheese!

Well obv they're not showing it at its best but if it's an outdoor item like a climbing frame or trampoline that they are selling as seen, at an appropriate price then fair enough.

As you say, it looks like it can be cleaned up. Could be that they can't be bothered or it wouldn't be worth their while cleaning it if they don't have a jet washer so they're offering someone who doesn't mind putting the elbow grease in a bargain. If they're honest with the pics that's fine. If it's overpriced for the condition they just won't get any takers

Is it ice lolly machine? 😁

MoiraNotRuby · 31/05/2021 16:58

I'm imagining a mouldy bouncy castle. If its something along those lines I would probably let my kids on it if they really wanted to there and then in a park...but agree its quite rubbish and if I was deciding about booking one of my own, I'd find another company.

Icepops · 31/05/2021 18:41

It’s a bouncy castle!

So they are hiring out the bouncy castle for parties etc and its mouldy? Yeah it is silly of them to use photos that show this especially as they have hopefully since cleaned it but why does it matter to you?

Icepops · 31/05/2021 19:37

They’re not hiring it out. It’s at their business which they hope will keep the children entertained while adults drink!

Ahhh ok - a bouncy castle at a pub... I know I should be revolted but I have fairly dreadful standards, I'd probably let my kids on...
