Parking across car park entrance

I live in a small block of flats. Cars/trucks/vehicles of all descriptions think it’s acceptable to park over the entrance to the private car park blocking entrance and exit. I took pics and sent to council who very quickly and kindly refreshed the white line across the opening. This was no deterrent. When politely asked to move they are abusive or have some excuse about visiting sick/elderly. Why can’t they park round the corner a less than 30 second walk away? I make a point of parking correctly, on the road not the pavement , not blocking any entrance/exit. I’m at a loss to understand why they do it

Yep. Asda delivery driver thought it was acceptable to block the whole entrance and refused to move.

Happens at work all the time, do annoying. Police told me they would only intervene after 30 mins and the tow truck would be up to 2 hours so basically they don't do anything

People do it because they are selfish, inconsiderate and entitled twats. Someone called me a “fucking bitch” last week when I asked them not to park on my drive. Apparently I was being selfish because they were only going to be two minutes. There is legal and safe parking on the other side of the street. This idiot thought they would park on my clearly signposted private gated property - like I said - twat.

Sounds about right for some arsehole drivers - they genuinely believe that their right not to be inconvenienced by having to walk the length of themselves trumps your right to access your car park/the road.

@PanamaPattie did they open your gate? How rude!
@Namenotavail I saw similar on my local FB at a large block of flats. The car was there for hours and the driver got back before the tow truck arrived. Residents were furious.

Record things on your phone, their abuse then send to their employer and ask for a response. I'd record and photograph / log incidents and contact the CEO of these organisations

PanamaPattie · 31/05/2021 11:35

@Niconacotaco - yes she did!

If it’s a branded delivery van definitely take photos and report them. Make sure to include any aggressive or threatening behaviour from the driver
