To complain about floral tribute

I ordered a floral tribute for my partners brother’s funeral, the tribute ordered was in the style of pic 1 but in red with brother in white letters and a black ribbon surround, we had to pay extra £30 for red flowers, we explained that he was a Man united supporter hence wanting those colours. What we got is in pic 2, this cost £155, and to me looks comical, I emailed florist to be told she had to use those flowers as she wouldn’t be able to fit brother on of she used anything else, the website said a max of 8 letters, brother is 7 letters, I ordered over the phone so she could’ve told me it wasn’t possible to fit brother on in white flowers but she said she could do it, sadly we didn’t see them until the funeral so couldn’t change anything

I think you are focusing on flowers because its something you can control amidst the awfulness. No one is going to judge it. It looks ok to me but you've had better responses from the florists here.

Jesus @Ickythefirebobby could you have a bit of compassion these were actual flowers ordered for an actual funeral for an actual loved one. Do you really think your opinion that her choice was tacky is appropriate to share?!

OP I’m so sorry for your loss. They’re not what you ordered and they’re not up to standard. The florist has not done a good job. That doesn’t reflect on you or your DP, but I know it’s hard when these things go wrong.

It’s not like what you ordered, but I like it more. It’s different.

The red one looks quite unprofessionally made, but stands out well because of the bright colours. I don't think I would complain now, as it's been laid down now , with your loving tribute to your partners Brother.

I think it looks OK but it’s not what you asked for and you should’ve been told if that wasn’t possible. However, I’m not sure I’d raise it, but understand you’d want to.

Sorry for your loss OP and sorry you are going through this.
What matters is that you loved him and you did your very best for him.
We had a similar issue with the flowers for my DMILs funeral. They totally messed our order up and sent a tribute that cost half the price we paid. We told the florist so that they could take measures to avoid it happening again but nothing would have made a horrible day any better really.

To be honest anything with a big red blocked background is going to look tacky and with the white letters it would have looked even worse. A mixture of red and white flowers with black lettering would have been better.

The spacing isn't great but overall I think it is a nicer look than the original.
That said if you wanted something different then I can understand your disappointment.
