how much did you lose and did you have excess skin afterwards? I have around 9 stone to lose so this worries me.

I have lost 8 stone and am very crinkled with bits that flap when I run. My breasts are like empty icing bags and I have gone a bit jowly. It's definitely aged me facially ( mid 50s). BUT I am a yoyo dieter andd this is the third time I have lost a lot of weight so no wonder my skin is knackered.

Danni91 · 30/05/2021 22:39

Yeah but i feel tons better for it!
Go for it, ideally you exercise as you lose to reduce any excess skin but it isnt always 100% - all i can say is it won't matter whilst your losing

Its totally possible to have good skin as you lose weight tbh you don't know until you've done it but good luck OP! All the best its a journey worth taking

I have lost about 7.5 stone so far and am hoping to lose about another stone.

The younger you are the more elasticity your skin has, so it won't be the same for everyone. The health and wellbeing benefits from losing the weight are way WAY more significant and positive than any negatives about flappy skin.

My boobs are very much not what they used to be, but I always hated having big boobs (used to wear 42JJ now wearing 36DD) and I have a "mother's apron" dangling down from my tum but with nice well-fitting undies on, I think I look pretty good anyway.

I honestly don't think the possibility of loose skin is any good reason to worry about though. It's a minor detail compared to the risks of staying overweight.

I am considering possibly having cosmetic surgery to tidy away the excess skin on boob and tum once I have stabilised at my target weight, but I may decide that the health risks of potential wound infections, side effects from general anaesthetic and pain during lengthy healing time are not worth it for the vanity of less flappiness.

Try fasting as part of your weight loss plan, with doctor's approval of course, autophagy, which increases when fasting, is very good for tightening the skin

Me. I was around 15st and am now 8st7. Most of me is OK but I have lots of crepey skin and an apron on my tummy and my tits are fully deflated (from a g cup to d, but just empty and dangly). I lost weight slowly and do lots of weights and cardio but my skin just didn't have the elasticity to to pop back fully (I am nearly 50).
I look fine in clothes but I'm taking the plunge and having a tummy tuck and breast uplift this summer.

I lost 10 stones in a year, that was 11 years ago and my skin is a mess. The health benefits were worth it though so I don't regret it.

KihoBebiluPute · 31/05/2021 11:44

@SerafinaPekkala I would be interested to hear more about your decision to have surgery, if you are willing to share. As I mentioned up thread I am thinking about this option (and it will probably take till I am 50 to save up the funds!)

CandyFIosss · 31/05/2021 11:45

I was concerned about this but then my sister pointed out that at least I would look much better in clothes so who cares about the saggy skin underneath (which is true)

TwoAndAnOnion · 31/05/2021 11:48

6 stone and no spare skin. But I am a gym bunny.

Namechangedlady · 31/05/2021 11:50

Op I am currently losing weight, I also have about 9 stone to lose. I am already saving for loose skin removal. When I want to eat crap I destract myself by researching surgeons and types of surgery.
