Have NCd in case I am identified.

I used to be fairly ambitious and wanted to progress career wise. Just before covid, I had a really horrible experience at work and it’s pretty much killed my confidence.

Then I got pregnant, had a baby, and right now I don’t want any additional responsibilities or the related pay!

Is this fairly common?

Yes, but dont step out in any reversible way because this feeling passes

How easy is it to step backward in your role?

Custardo · 30/05/2021 17:11

if your employer didnt handle the situation well, then you have lost faith in them and perhaps need to work elsewhere.

for me - it depends on the pay, if your only getting 3k more as a manager then fuck it - however if its 10k - and you need the money then there is a decision to make.

Having a baby (is it your first?) changes so much. I don't blame you for wanting to make somethings easier to help deal with changes in other areas. If it is only a few thousand (as previous poster said) is it worth the stress?

i did. i had to do because i had three children under three. I'm just about in the same role as i left in 2015. Still classed as an expert in my field though and throughly love my
job. I'm lucky that i can pick my hours.
