Alcohol policy at Harvester

I had no idea the alcohol limit at Harvester restaurants is 25! We took our DC (age 19 and 16) for a meal last night and DC1 was refused a beer. I can't find this advertised anywhere on the website. They said it is a common thing in restaurants now.

Is it? Have I missed something?

I am aware that it is perfectly legal for an adult to buy alcohol for a 16 year old with a meal. However it is also perfectly acceptable to expect them to produce I.D to prove they are the required age. From age 14 it is very easy to pass as 18 let alone 16, and the fines are quite hefty

@VeganVeal

I'd be more worried if my 19 DC couldn't go an evening without a drink, do he have a problem around drink?

The challenge 25 has been around for ages, really annoying for people like me who are the wrong side of 25 but still look 20. Supermarket once refused to sell DH wine because they thought he was buying it for me and I didn't have ID on me.

Oddly enough though when I was 16-18 and my parents would buy me wine during a meal my ID was never checked.
