WWYD, Strange Comings and goings

I live on a 'private' new build estate, private land which has not been handed over to highways and maintained by a management company that all residents pay for. Disclaimer: I'm not a snob honest!

Lived here for 5 years with no issues. Over the last 3 weeks I've noticed a car park outside my house (against covenants as parked on pavement, but this is generally ignored by all so 🤷🏼‍♀️). The car pulls up at 11pm ish and then driver and passengers park I and bundle into a second car and drive off , not parking up elsewhere. Around 1 pm the second car returns and the reverse happens. Day in day out. One if these cars is untaxed. Last night one if the cars returned with a new car in convoy, new car parks up and 4 people get out, all including g the driver are inhaling 'balloons', then they transfer to the other 2 cars. Rinse and repeat.

WWYD? Its annoying me, I pay my tax etc, dont drug drive etc... It's also taking up any visitor parking. Honestly dont want to come across stuck up but getting right up my nose and I cant explain why?! I'm getting old!

Write a large note.
You are being recorded on CCTV.
Please go away.
Stick it on the drivers window.

Sounds quite suspicious. I would report to the police. They probably think that if they in a private estate, their activity might go undetected if illegal

Sillawithans · 29/05/2021 08:00

I couldn't be bothered about this and I'd be even less bothered about the car tax.
I tend to just live my life and let others live theirs.

You are quite happy for them to be driving round under the influence of whatever they've been inhaling to give them a high? Fucking hell........
CastleCrasher · 29/05/2021 08:13

So you have footage of them driving high? Just give it to the police, job done.

Gingernaut · 29/05/2021 08:15

Crimestoppers.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 29/05/2021 08:19

Can you see who the passengers are. I thought pimp straight away. Are the passengers women?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/05/2021 08:31

You have footage of all this? Just phone or call into the local police station and hand it over. Can't see what the issue is here Hmm

Hi OP - I live on a funny little road with only two houses, a church and then a little space where 3 cars can park.

We always have people parking up for dodgy reasons - from shagging a prostitute to eating a takeaway and leaving all the food and wrappers behind.

It's a PITA and my DH usually goes out with a torch and asks "can I help you" .... which works to a point...

.... however, about 6 months ago we put in a motion sensor really really bright light that shines on the car as soon as they pull up.

It's really done the trick as 9 times out of 10 they just pull away and drive off.

You might need to check with your neighbours it's okay with the light (we did) .

Would it be an option for you?

Great idea!!
You can always log it too on the website but I doubt they will do much but if the police are in the area they might just drive past to make their presence known.

I never knew you could buy nitrous oxide! I had gas and air in labour but It’s funny to think that a drug dealer is filling up balloons!

DeathStare · 29/05/2021 18:16

I'm confused. If they return at 1pm the car is there for 14 hours. Or do you mean 1am?

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 29/05/2021 22:04

@DeathStare , yes but they then transfer to car 2 and drive off. Rinse repeat....

As In car 1 pulls up and parks at 11pm, the occupants get into car 2 and drive away. At 1pm following day car 2 returns and parks and occupants and goods get into car 2, and so on and on and on.....plus nitrous oxide high driver.

I have now reported to my lovely pcso, although I don't think they are interested.

They must be working nights or something to be there until lunchtime the next day. Could they be lift sharing? Although, even if they are parking for a legitimate reason the drug driving should definitely be reported.

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 30/05/2021 10:13

@SheComesUndone, I've considered that too but the occupants and drivers are always different and they are constantly transferring items from one car to the other. It's rather interesting this curtain twitching!
