Blackhead on my boob

Least that is what I think (hope) it is...

It’s just outside my areola, a teeny tiny black round spot, it’s seriously small, like blackhead size.
It looks exactly like a blackhead.
It can’t be scratched off and I’ve had it at least a week.

I’m getting a bit worried.

Should I go to the doctor?
Or would that be silly?

'dilated pore of Winer is a noncancerous tumor of a hair follicle or sweat gland in the skin. The pore looks very much like a large blackhead but is a different kind of skin lesion.'

Too late I googled it 🤢😭 I’m never eating coco pops again.

Need pic to assess

TheDiddlyGang · 28/05/2021 22:31

It’s definately not an ingrown hair (I get those all the time!)

I have just tried to squeeze it and can’t, though my breast skin is pretty squishy and loose after kids so that doesn’t help.

I’m trying to get a picture but it’s literally like pin head size!
Very awkward, also, through trying to get a picture and looking closely it’s actually in the areola, not outside it. Not sure if that makes a difference

I’ve got something like this, possibly a bit bigger than what you say, that suddenly (I think) appeared on my areola. I went to the doctor with it and he said it was a mole. He didn’t think I was silly for checking. This was years ago and it’s still there and isn’t any trouble. Anything you’re worried about is best to get checked out.

Also I had a blocked pore on my boob right near what they both met, it used to be really satisfying to squeeze and get loads of pus out till it got infected and turned into a hard hot lump and I had to have antibiotics and an op to remove it. So don’t squeeze!

Theunamedcat · 28/05/2021 22:36

Hot cloth it if its a blackhead it should look a bit soggy and bigger and you can shift it if its a mole it will just look wet

RichTeaCheddars · 28/05/2021 22:37

Get this moved to sporners and post a picture of the black spot.

Hold a warm compress on it and then squeeze again? Pull the skin taut when you squeeze

Summerfun54321 · 28/05/2021 22:39

I had something like you describe on my nose. A deep down tiny spot that I couldn’t squeeze. I pricked it with a fine sterile pin and that sorted it. 🤢

It’s probably a blackhead. It could even be the start of a single, random areola hair like mine - it sprouted in my 30s and kept growing back after I plucked it. It went away after 6 years or so. The joys of aging.

If you can’t squeeze it or pluck it and it’s still there in a fortnight, get it checked out.

I recently had a red lump on my boob that looked like a spot so I squeezed it and pus came out, like a spot, so I phoned the doctor and she asked me to come in an hour later where she confirmed it was indeed a spot.

HOWEVER she said I’d done the right thing in phoning up and she’d rather look at a thousand spots than miss something that was serious.

TheDiddlyGang · 28/05/2021 22:47

I’ve just gone to the bathroom armed with a hot washcloth but i gave it another squeeze with a pair of tweezers this time instead of my fingers and it looked like something was protruding so I squeezed it again and put a hot cloth on it.

The black mark is gone!!!!!
So it must have been a blackhead Blush

It is a little red but I’m assuming that’s irritation from being pinched and boiled....

Thanks everyone!
