The crisps. Used to be my favourite now they're hard thought it was a dodgy bag
It wasn't. Why do companies think they can change recipes just like that why fix something that isn't broken
And don't get me started on all the things they discontinue never to be seen again
Tasters
Beefy square crisps
Cheesy nibbles
Strawberry and lime calippo shots Sad

Does anyone remember 'Puffs'? they were my fave, wish they were still around.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 27/05/2021 16:50

Monster Munch have gone the same way. So bland. I remember the cramping cheeks so fondly …

JustLyra · 27/05/2021 16:52

@PixieDust28

Or prawn cocktail wotsits Sad.
They’re not quite as good, but prawn cocktail Quavers are back out and they’re really good.

As are the salt and vinegar ones. They actually have flavour.

Dogscanteatonions · 27/05/2021 16:56
@Dogscanteatonions - are you talking about Mini Chips? M&S do their own version and they're passable as Mini Chips.
No, the ready salted version of actual chipsticks. They came in a red packet

Dogscanteatonions · 27/05/2021 16:57

Don't even get me started on Tooty Frooties 😔😔

Holothane · 27/05/2021 17:00

I used to love ready salted chopsticks now can’t get them haven’t had them for years.

littlepattilou · 27/05/2021 17:07

A lot of companies do seem to taking the sugar and salt out of stuff!

I have latte in a pack of10, and this past year or so, it's gone so bland, that I have to add a spoonful of sugar. They take it out (and the salt too out of other things,) for the sake of peoples health, but all that happens is people put their own in/add their own.

Pointless and annoying.

And don't even get me started on Cadburys Milk Tray. Vile, slimy shit. All taste the same no matter what flavour, and like eating slugs. (Well, how I would imagine!)

Is milk tray the one with the apple chocolate in it? 🤢
littlepattilou · 27/05/2021 17:11

@BlitheringBlathers

PMSL! Yep, the apple one. It tastes like pigshit smells. Grin

littlepattilou · 27/05/2021 17:13

@Toiletrollbuyer

I love scampi fries, I had a packet the other day and they were so bland I honestly thought I had Covid. They tasted of nothing. Luckily it was just a dodgy pack.
'So bland I honestly thought I had covid.' Grin
BlitheringBlathers · 27/05/2021 17:15

@littlepattilou 😂 my actual face when I ate one.

What have they done to chipsticks?
torquewench · 27/05/2021 17:18

Chipsticks are rank, but Sainsbury's own brand "share size" (as IF) are tremendous. And around the same price as a 28g bag.

cakewitch · 27/05/2021 17:34

I will be forever livid that ready salted chipsticks were discontinued. Everyone surely must understand that vinegar in a crispy snack is abominable.

99redspottedducks · 27/05/2021 17:36
@99redspottedducks I haven't tasted chipsticks for YEARS.

What's wrong with them then?
Nothing like they were they've turned them hard and tasteless like you'd expect if the bag had a hole in it or something
Not good!

HannaHat · 27/05/2021 17:38

Very disappointing, I agree they taste like they’ve gone stale.

tapdancingmum · 27/05/2021 17:41

Tesco own brand ready salted are also very good. Huge bag and one I get started I can't out them down. I've rationed myself to one bag a week 😃

Grin They're vile aren't they?! Shock

SilverGoblin · 27/05/2021 19:55

Ringo's, Frazzles and transformer snacks are now like they are made from a froth of molten glass which hardened upon cooling. Pom bears are heading that way. There are others, I am sure but can't name them right now.

Harder crisps means more air, more air means less weight per packet, lower weight of produvct per bag means exaggerated health claims and increased profits.

They are super healthy though because once eating two crisps burns and slashes the inside of your mouth to ribbons, you go off the idea of ever eating them again. In the long run, a case of my waistline thanks the manufacturers I think...my bank balance will also thank them...not sure their balance sheet will though.

looptheloopinahulahoop · 27/05/2021 20:01

The Sainsburys ones are ok, we have them a lot.

But Sainsburys annoyed me when they stopped their "pops" - they only came in ready salted which was a touch boring, but there weren't too many in a bag, so they were low in fat and calories and a nice treat alongside a sandwich.

OhWhyNot · 27/05/2021 20:24

Frazzles are not the same

Since they went au naturel Hmm

Now they only use natural food flavouring (what this is from I don’t know) if I wanted natural food I wouldn’t be eating a packed of bloody Frazzles

Used to make a lovely sandwich

BlitheringBlathers · 27/05/2021 20:52

Definitely @littlepattilou although TBF I should've guessed from the name...who the hell thought an Apple flavoured chocolate was a good idea 😂

Taliskerskye · 27/05/2021 21:24

@Whatup
Omg you are my person! I am so upset they stopped them
Literally my fave crisps 😢

LookItsMeAgain · 28/05/2021 09:38

Does anyone remember salt & vinegar Discos?? They were like the old S&V Pringles used to be...packed with flavour. Are Discos still being made?

user1471462634 · 28/05/2021 11:18

Yep, still making
Discos, 6 bags for a quid in Asdas!

Viviennemary · 28/05/2021 11:48

The Morrisons frazzles are really nice. Called Bacon bites I think. But now only available in gigantic bags which is a pain if you are trying to cut back on snacks.
