To go A&E?

DP has come back from work on a building site and his eye is bright red from about eyebrow height to where the eye bags stop (not sure if that makes sense).
Was drilling a concrete ceiling and thinks but if concrete has got in his eye.
After the incident he rinsed his eye out with water to the best of his ability, and when that didn’t help he used the eyewash station on site.
It’s still no better.
I’m aware that A&E will be hours and hours, but also if it is important then it could of course be worth it.
More of a wwyd.
