Ah, of course, thanks.

Where would I find that?

What kind of genres do you like? I have just finished Game Of Thrones and am currently reading The Other Boleyn Girl.

As Palavah says check out the Books thread. Many suggestions there.

bravotango · 25/05/2021 12:41

I recently loved Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

suspiria777 · 25/05/2021 13:11

Lullaby by Leila Slimani

notawittyname1954 · 25/05/2021 13:16

@rubberplants go to talk, all topics and then books

Xanadu7 · 25/05/2021 13:24

@notawittyname1954 thanks for directions, I didn’t know it was there either.

I’m rereading the Chronicles of St Mary’s series yet again...so few books have the capacity to make me laugh out loud and also cry real tears of sadness in one book yet Jodi Taylor manages. Brilliant series.

I've just started reading those and really enjoying them.

DulseSeaweed · 25/05/2021 14:35

I'm reading The Mermaid of the Black Conch which is...weird.

After this I will be re-reading Nancy Mitford before watching the BBC rendition. I'm 30 and she makes me hoot with laughter. I think her writing is still relevant and wonderful.

What genres do you usually like?

I have heard so many good things about this series. I may have to give them a try one day.

Minstermouse · 25/05/2021 20:12

Germania by Simon Winder

EcoCustard · 25/05/2021 20:19

I am Reading The Five. It’s about the lives of the women who were murdered by Jack the Ripper. Enjoying it so far and have been in a reading rut for a while and has captured my interest.

Hippee · 25/05/2021 20:23

If you are on Facebook the Radio 2 Book Club is fun - lots of chat and suggestions about books - most people on there complain that it costs them a fortune (because they get tempted by all the suggestions).

RexMyDarling · 25/05/2021 20:25

Just finished The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper - thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in Pompeii before the eruption about a group of prostitutes. Unputdownable.

Staffymumma · 25/05/2021 20:26

I’m reading the midnight library and really enjoying it.

Wearegoingtoneedabiggerboat · 25/05/2021 20:27

Just finished reading ‘I know this much is true’ by Wally lamb.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/05/2021 20:27

What sort of thing do you usually enjoy?

Scout2016 · 25/05/2021 20:32

Just finished She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb which was recommended to me on a FWR thread. I really loved it.
Now a few pages in to neurosurgeon Henry Marsh's Admissions, follow up to Do No Harm which was fantastic.

Scout2016 · 25/05/2021 20:34

@Wearegoingtoneedabiggerboat
Was it good? Wondering which Lamb to try next.

Looubylou · 25/05/2021 20:35

Nothing intellectual, but I've just enjoyed I found you - Lisa Jewell, and The Fear - CL Taylor, was even better

I've just finished And Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell, really enjoyed it
RampantIvy · 25/05/2021 20:39

Where Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. The best book I have read in such a long time.

I have these I haven't started yet. Are they heavy going? True to the series or better ?
