Examples

"My teenager doesn't tidy his room and doesn't care he's messy"
MN over analysis response "He's probably being bullied at school, or has autism"
Actual issue: Teenagers are lazy beggars

"My husband hates cooking he won't even make beans on toast it's so annoying"
MN over analysis response: "What was he fed as a child? Maybe he has an eating disorder? Or autism?"
Actual issue: he's useless

"I'm so daft, just spent 30 minutes looking for the car keys, turns out they were in the milk shelf of the fridge and the milk was in my handbag!"
MN over analysis response: "This is a sign of early onset dementia. Or autism"
Actual issue: everyone has a brain fart now and again

It's amusing and annoying in equal measure Grin

And about 10 minutes after this thread, someone will start thread number 115949463 on the most popular topic ‘why is MN getting nastier?’
That’s after they read every comment on every thread they deem to be nasty, enjoyed the entertainment and now want to tell everyone to ‘be kind’

@sst1234

Yes, because people simply cannot be lazy or stupid or horrible anymore. They must have an undiagnosed disorder. They must have special educational needs or be narcissistic or have anxiety.
Yes, absolutely this.

So many posters are obsessed with being able to put a label on everything.

Some people are just awful, simple as that.

And they will excuse their own behaviour with the ubiquitous "but I'm a people pleaser" usually accompanied by "ha, ha, ha"

Nothing funny about that. You aren't a people pleaser, you are a fucking pathetic wet doormat. But we aren't allowed to say that as there will be a massive made up drip feed to try and make us feel bad because "anxiety".

Sorry, that wasn't very light-hearted was it?
