Other search engines are available.

I have a friend who regularly writes things in a group chat like "what time does XXX open?", "how do I get to A from B?" or "how much is a first class stamp?". This evening I actually looked something up ready to answer her then thought... "NO. YOU ARE A GROWN UP! FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF!"

AIBU or this there a whole breed of fully fledged adults who have ability to think for themselves?

GrinI am exceptionally grumpy today.

@BarbaraofSeville got it😂

I agree.

At least 3/4 of replies on here for which I have SME, are utterly wrong.

Never mind that a good proportion of the questions are just daft.

Like “what type of sofa can I take as hand luggage?” On Aeroflot.

I have a friend like this. Every time without fail when we’re meeting up, several hours before he will put in our group chat -

  • what time are we meeting?
  • what’s the closest tube?
  • how long will it take me to walk from the tube?
  • what kind of food does this place do?

Maybe it’s because I’m extremely organised but it drives me insane! We now all just direct him to Google

DeflatedGinDrinker · 24/05/2021 15:39

Oh yes op 😂 don't understand it at all.

IanHBuckells · 24/05/2021 18:37

I have just directed her to LMGTFY after she asked what a single bus fare was.

May need to Google "how to find new friends" myself Blush

This is a well known and discussed phenomemon, I'm surprised you started a thread about it when you can find all the explanation you need just by Googling.

I remember at work when someone was next to me faffing around with a computer thing they had no idea about, I said you could try googling it, they replied 'there's no way of knowing how long that might take'.

Almost certainly less time than the 20 minutes you've faffed about already.

Sometimes opening hours aren't accurate on google!

Better chance than 30 randoms on facebook each with different time😂

@SchrodingersImmigrant that is true to be fair! 😂
