Hi this may be a long shot but I'm having no luck finding any info. I'm looking at going back to college to get qualifications to start a nursing degree, have financial plans to get through college but Im struggling with a financial plan for university. My main question is if you receive the NHS bursary, can you also receive a full maintenance loan or is it reduced with bursary? Can't find a straight answer anywhere online.

Thankyou to anyone who can help!

Not nursing, but when I studied social work at university it came with an NHS bursary.
I was still eligible to apply for maintenance loan and tuition feel loan.

That bursary is no longer available for social work

Sorry, posted too soon.
Your best bet is to call up student finance and ask ❤️ they're very helpful

I dont know but have you considered other routes into nursing. If you have a job as a b2 hca you can apply to do nurse associate training. This is 2 years paid at b3 then you work as a b4. I think you can then do a shorter course to staff nurse. Or you may be able to apply for a funded student nurse place by your Trust. This is fully paid for by trust and a wage, b2 I think. But only a small number of places and must already be employed by the Trust. This is what my Trust is doing.

11 years ago when I trained we got a reduced maintenance loan due to bursary

op I’m a student nurse about to qualify. They don’t do a NHS bursary for student nurses anymore, all funding comes through student finance. There is an extra £5000/£7000 bursary from the government introduced last year which is not means tested snd won’t affect student finance.

I’m a single parent and I get about £13,000 a year student loan plus tuition fee. I then have now had the extra £7000 (I have a kid) and I get £400 a month universal credit for my rent. If you live with someone their earnings will reduce your student finance
