Reading an article about ultra processed foods (UPF) and the link to poor health. Not rocket science I suppose, we all know the risks. But today is for me thinking because a lot of food typically targeted at kids ( sugary cereals ex)

I want to change the way my family eat. AIBU to think this will be more difficult than I imagine?

I thought we were doing ok but then saw how much stuff in my kitchen is ultra professed!

In theory cooking from natural foods feels great but not always practical!

If you are already followed a low UPF way of living I'd like to hear the sort of things you eat!

Thanks Smile

I remember having a party for my primary-age children once and buying in frozen party food, nuggets etc, for the sheer convenience. 3 months later I found a plate of the food had been hidden under a shelf; it looked pristine and showed no signs of deterioration. That was a lesson for me about the difference between real food and UPF.

Yesterday I was reading the ingredients of some meat-free pretend-meat products, all marketed as vegan, "plant" - based and oh so good for ones health and the environment. (Not Quorn).
It was all science lab and factory food, the epitome of UPF, with a long list of unrecognisable ingredients. It made me feel quite angry that the food industry is jumping on the vegan bandwagon, convincing people that this type of veganism* is healthy and eco-friendly, while simultaneously telling people they cannot eat a healthy diet without relying on factory foods.

Yes.

The vegan bandwagon has been pushed hard.
