Have just called DH from my desk to pre warn him that we have either very low pressure or no water currently due to a burst main in the town.

I have received a raging earful!!!! Including how he hates this town! He was literally born, raised and lived here for 99% of his life!

Am I wrong to not take the blame for this????
God he is a dick!

Sounds like he's having a rant about the situation, something we've all done at one time or another

VettiyaIruken · 18/05/2021 07:03

Having a rant about a place or situation isn't blaming you for it.

Unless he said damned water pressure this is all your fault why did you make us live here...

What did he say that was blaming you for it?

OldkermitSippingtea · 18/05/2021 07:08

Yabu OP. Unless there's new information, it doesn't make sense. I don't get what he's done to you besides ranting in your ear (about the situation). For that, yea yanbu but he hasn't blamed you so for that yabu.

Redcherries · 18/05/2021 07:23

I think when someone rants at you and gets angry it can very much feel like they are pushing the fault on you. My husband does it a lot.

This morning there was a rant about odd socks, I put away the washing and what was there, he insists there were no odd socks, he doesn't think I hid socks so I'm not sure what goes on in his brain. Its something we are working on.

YANBU but you already know that.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/05/2021 10:07

I’m also not sure he’s blaming you - just having a rant. People do.

My dad is someone you can’t complain to without him deciding it’s a dig at him in some way. You can’t have a moan about the train being delayed (for example) without it being, ‘Well what do you expect ME to do about it? I didn’t ask you to get that train; why are you complaining to me?’ Are you one of those people?

bigbaggyeyes · 18/05/2021 10:30

I'd shove the burst water pipe up his arse

Changemaname1 · 18/05/2021 10:33

I do this - I hate this fkin place etc ( I don’t ) when I am stressed out and something tips me over the edge . It’s not blaming anyone tho he’s just venting which I assume he feels comfortable to do with you ?

Smallfry79 · 18/05/2021 10:42

@Merryoldgoat

He sounds like a douche.
Is this a joke on the word douche/ shower or am i reading too much into it as post is to do with water pressure? I immediately thought it was but no one else seems to think so.
