Veggie options at work lunch?

Last week at work there was a little work lunch where everybody brought in something, everybody signed up for what they wanted to bring in and it was mentioned that one person was a vegetarian.
I didn't attend the lunch but it was clear from the list that people had signed up with vegetarian options and it was mentioned to me that there were infact no meat options.

I am not veggie however i do enjoy many vegetarian dishes/alternatives and i am fully aware that this is only one meal so meat eaters are perfectly capable of enjoying a veggie lunch. But.. I do find it a little odd that everybody chose veg options despite only one person was vegetarian and many people brought items e.g quorn sausage rolls, quorn sausages etc so it would have been just as easy to buy meat options and a veggie option.

I've worked with them all for years and know that most of them eat meat, we've had previous similar lunches with meat and veggie options so i just found it a little unusual.

AIBU in my thinking?

I am not against this at all and think its great that they've all decided to accomodate somebody who is veggie but there was no instruction to say it had to be vegetarian just a heads up that it might be polite to include a couple of veg options.

Is this the usual in other work places?

People being considerate and it costs less money. Eg if you sign up for sausage rolls knowing Tracy is a veggie then you only need 1 pack if you pick Quorn or you have to buy a pack of meat & a pack of Quorn. Quiche - night aswell pick up a veggie or cheese one all 8 can eat not the quiche Lorraine only 7 can have. It’s also less awkward everything fine for everyone not the ones on the blue plate are veggie those ones aren’t etc. I’m a meat eater but wouldn’t think odd for a small jacobs join in office.

@dixiechickonhols yes I completely get your point, like I say I'm more than happy with options that dont contain meat so I dont find it an issue at all it's just in our workplace its never been done like this before.
I can remember a few years back we had a bbq and aside from the usual side dishes that are naturally veggie like salad and potato salad there was only meat cooked on the bbq, I didn't think of it at the time but it wasnt very inclusive for any vegetarian or vegans who must have only eaten the salads and maybe some coleslaw.

It doesn't sound like it was 'done' like anything. It just sounds like everyone chose to take options that were suitable for everyone else. Had anyone been keen to have a meat dish there, they could have taken one. So nobody really has anything to complain about.
