my parents dont even work (early retirement) and have a 'lady what does'. Go for it!

ivykaty44 · 16/11/2007 14:44

My mum worked from home and we had a lady come to the house every friday.

If you want someone to clean your house - go for it, it doesn't matter dont try to justifie yourself there is no need. Spend your own money on what you want to spend it on

It isn't unreasonable at all. But could you cope with it? I work from home and I would be sat tensely with a fixed smile the whole time the cleaner was in. Or jumping up guiltily to make her cups of coffee.

I have a cleaner that comes in once a week and I work from home. I am usually quite busy so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I just have a huge sense of relief and gratitude that she has sorted my house out for me and I am very happy to pay her
I am crap at cleaning but quite good at my work. She does her job I do mine. It is a pragmatic solution. Go for it.

Go for it. I only work part-time but have a cleaner once every 3 weeks. Would have them every week if I could afford it. Frees you up to do the things you want to do so enjoy every lovely minute of having a fragrant house with none of the bother

dorawannabe · 16/11/2007 14:54

Oh do it. My cleaner started on Monday and I love her already. House was spotless and smelt lovely. You're working, you can afford it, why not?!

hey even some SAHMs have a cleaner ( not me I hasten to add, but I do send my ironing out)

minouminou · 16/11/2007 14:57

Go for it. i work from home part-time, and once my earnings are up a bit more, we'll get a cleaner in once a fortnight
work is work is work, and quite frankly, if you work at home, as soon as you're done, you need to get out and about, not clean the bog!

rookiemum · 16/11/2007 15:01

Go for it, but as threadworm says you need to think about the implications of having someone else there whilst you are working.

Can you lock yourself up in your study so you don't get involved in pointless discussions about which brand of polish is best and what you are running low on ?
