For me it is the habit of drinking out of bottles. Everywhere you go people are swigging out of bottles. Had a bank appointment and even Manager was drinking out of a bottle. Agh I must be getting old. Give me a glass any time.

OP posts:

Mummy bloggers and YouTube families acting like nobody else has ever done the things they do. Who watches this shite? Ladbaby particularly irritates me, stupid couple.

KarmaNoMore · 17/05/2021 08:47

People putting little animal noses and ears on selfies especially adults in dating sites, it is not cute, it is not fun, it is horribly cringey, especially if you are a man.

KarmaNoMore · 17/05/2021 08:49

I do cringe when people have no topic of conversation other than what they watch on TV... and they narrate it all with the same excitement as if it was “real life”.

Aposterhasnoname · 17/05/2021 08:50

People calling their partners bae. Even writing it down infuriates me. When I rule the world it will be 20 years in jail for even thinking about saying it.

roseinthedark · 17/05/2021 08:51

Another vote for the MLM “support my small business” stuff. I despise the idea going around that not buying from someone’s crappy wax melt venture is anti-feminist or not supporting your friends/family , “sharing and liking is free”. Whichever big cat came up with that, near the top of the pyramid, probably got a week off after that!!

Who the f- even had a use for wax melts before 2019

FatherDickByrne · 17/05/2021 08:52

The creeping Americanisation of English eg ‘I’m excited to do X’ instead of ‘I’m excited about doing X’.

People who call their children by their ages eg Ms 7 and Mr 4.5 🤮

People who cycle on the pavement / across zebra crossings. Ditto runners who run across zebra crossings.

People who raise their voices and carry on talking when you try to get a word in edgeways. Kudos for technique though!

Being Number 41 in a telephone queue to get a doctors’ appointment (happening right now 🤬).

The increased congestion charge / expanded days and times. So now I can’t drive across London at the weekend or in the evening without paying a fortune.

And to all those having a go at loud sneezers, we really can’t help it (mine inherited from my Dad - sounds exactly the same).

otterbaby · 17/05/2021 08:52

When an animal dies and people say "run free over the rainbow bridge xxxxx"

Very sad for your pet but I just hate that phrase!

Poppynit · 17/05/2021 08:53

@MagicSummer then my post doesn’t apply to you. You are not one of the people that bother me. Sorry if that sounded rude!
However, if a friend said “let’s go to Starbucks for a coffee” to me, that means sitting in and drinking it whereas “get a coffee” would imply you buy it and go.

PassGo · 17/05/2021 08:55

Tailgaters. I don't set the speed limits!

'Mouthwatering' makes me feel queasy. I don't want to think about it.

pinkearedcow · 17/05/2021 08:57

Coleen Rooney-esque ellipses........................

IntermittentParps · 17/05/2021 08:59

Uggs. When they bend outwards at the ankle, and seeing people walking in them on wet pavements and the water is soaking into them. Uggghhhh.

'Can I get'?

Posting about a pet that's died and saying it's gone 'over the rainbow bridge'. I'm not a cold-hearted bitch, I swear (I've had pets and its' devastating); just that phrase makes my toes curl.

I must defend 'Brought instead of bought' though; in the West Midlands that's correct.
BUT the West Midlands thing of calling a magazine a 'book' really winds me up.

Pavement parking. Lazy and dangerous, it happens in my street all the time. Just park in a parking space ffs! What if an ambulance or fire engine need to get passed?

sandgrown · 17/05/2021 09:02

We are pregnant . No you are pregnant but if your (male) partner was you could make a flipping fortune !
Fur babies
would of , could of , should of

Halloweenrainbow · 17/05/2021 09:03

The whole "I've two-under-two", or "three--under-five" etc. It's not a competition! Confused

SaturdayMood · 17/05/2021 09:12

"It gives me anxiety"

No it fucking doesn't! It makes you feel a bit anxious or uncomfortable, both of which are totally normal human emotions and reactions. And it makes a total mockery of people who do genuinely suffer with anxiety Angry

VeganCow · 17/05/2021 09:12

@SallyOMalley

When people say "can I get ..." in cafes or shops. No, you can't get it, you may have it. "Could I have ...".
Yes, I always picture them climbing over the counter to grab the thing off the shelf themselves Grin
PairOfPears · 17/05/2021 09:13

When someone selling something on FB marketplace writes ‘no time wasters’ as if someone is going to go ‘oh right no time wasters, I was going to message and take the piss, better keep scrolling and troll someone else’

TankFlyBoss · 17/05/2021 09:17

Percific. The word is specific

Rupertbeartrousers · 17/05/2021 09:18

@powershowerforanhour

Yes to the PP who nominated middle aged (or a bit older) men holding court- especially when they start telling some anecdote and deliberately leave really long pauses to make it seem like everyone politely listening is hanging on their every word as if they are the world's greatest raconteur. I'm generally chewing the inside of my cheek not to snap "Hurry the fuck up, spit it out and let any of these more polite and interesting people have a turn to talk, you dull self absorbed absolute arse".
Grin
earthyfire · 17/05/2021 09:18

People who arse lick Z-listers / D-listers on instagram.

You can blame health and safety gone mad for this one........ there was a trend a few years back where workplaces got rid of cups and glasses and encouraged staff to use covered thermos mugs and bottles because people have an inability to clean up any spills they make on the way from the kitchen to their desks...... creates a slip hazard Confused
regthetabbycat · 17/05/2021 09:21

@mrsbitaly

People wearing pyjamas and slippers at my local lidl. People wearing masks around their chin instead of face. People walking slow in front of me. When should I stop 😂
So sorry if my disability causes you distress.

I promise you it's far more of an annoyance to me. Or should I just let everyone go ahead of me? Angry

FrangipaniBlue · 17/05/2021 09:21

People.

and most things they do.

SpeckledyHen · 17/05/2021 09:22

Dogs licking faces 🤮 probably after licking their own backsides .

SofiaMichelle · 17/05/2021 09:25

"Call it out"
"Call her out"
"Call him out"
"Call them out"

It's challenge. Challenge is the word you're looking for, unless you're an American teenager.

And people speaking as if statements are questions - rising intonation. It's absolutely everywhere now.

"So I'm a student from Coventry?"

"I'm hoping to be an accountant?"

They are not bloody questions!
