For me it is the habit of drinking out of bottles. Everywhere you go people are swigging out of bottles. Had a bank appointment and even Manager was drinking out of a bottle. Agh I must be getting old. Give me a glass any time.

.A friend used to post on Facebook "out withand small" - Small referred to their daughter. He continued this until his daughter was no longer the smallest in the house! I've never known anyone to refer to a child as "small"*

The Clangers (new version on cbeebies) has characters called Tiny and Small so maybe it's from that.

Mine is Rice horse trailers (never Ifor Williams- doesn't fit the aesthetic) painted pastel colours and used as catering vans to sell wanky artisan gin or woodfired handcrafted artisan pizza at fete type events, especially when you trip over the massive jugs of two tone pink and cream hydrangeas artfully arranged at the base.

Kids with all four fingers in their mouth right up to the palm, people eating crisps, people talking/eating loudly in the cinema, blokes who spit everywhere, using was instead of were, bad language, teenage gangs riding hairdryers - get a proper bike you are not hard riding those.
Probably why I live out in the country miles away from "civilisation".

Endlesscleaning · 16/05/2021 23:21

People who write “would of” rather than “would have”.

Makes me unreasonably angry 😤

Zzelda · 16/05/2021 23:21

@MissKeithsNeice

People who use their vocal cords when sneezing. There is no need. Bonus points for actually say achoo.
This! I hate it when people shout as they sneeze.
Neonprint · 16/05/2021 23:22

People who don't know the difference between a pet hate and finding something cringe worthy Grin

PennyRoyal · 16/05/2021 23:25

@overnightangel

“I’ll have ....” when ordering. Rude. You mean “Please can I have ...?”

Or "can I get..." when ordering.

No, the waiter/waitress will get it for you once you placed your order.

powershowerforanhour · 16/05/2021 23:26

Yes to the PP who nominated middle aged (or a bit older) men holding court- especially when they start telling some anecdote and deliberately leave really long pauses to make it seem like everyone politely listening is hanging on their every word as if they are the world's greatest raconteur. I'm generally chewing the inside of my cheek not to snap "Hurry the fuck up, spit it out and let any of these more polite and interesting people have a turn to talk, you dull self absorbed absolute arse".

Beforeiwasrichandfamous · 16/05/2021 23:28

Adults asking small children, " would you like some chippies with dip dip"?

QueenPaw · 16/05/2021 23:29

@Amdone123 I had to take a phone call the other day from someone who was eating nuts for the whole call
Crunch, chomp, slurp "sorry, I'm eating some cashews"
YES I CAN FUCKING HEAR YOU
I nearly hung up on someone who was eating cereal sadly not allowed but I find it so rude

MegaBeach · 16/05/2021 23:30

I think Lar-tay pronouncers are doing their best to emulate the pronounciation of the Italian double-t which we don’t use the same way in English. La-Tay doesn’t sound at all correct either and I bet you’d hate English wankers mangling Lat.Tay even worse 🤣

CatelynStark · 16/05/2021 23:34

I can’t bear it when a twatty poster on here tells someone to ‘unclench’!
It’s so incredibly rude and offensive, I wince with embarrassment for them. Ugh!

Bum - the ugliest word in the English language

EinAugenblickBitte · 16/05/2021 23:40

My cat is not a baby substitute, he's a smally furry predator who licks his arse.
This has really made me chuckle Grin

NoProblem123 · 16/05/2021 23:46

Hubby.

Fur baby.

Phil & Holly. But especially Phil.

‘Living their best life’

Loud American documentaries about the royal family.

Staffy1 · 16/05/2021 23:56

The fairly recent expression (or maybe I just lead a sheltered life): "you do you".

Staffy1 · 16/05/2021 23:57

Also, "speaking my truth". Either it's THE truth, or it's not. It means nothing if everyone has their own version of the truth.

Staffy1 · 16/05/2021 23:59

@Paleodiet

Bum - the ugliest word in the English language
Lol, surely arse I worse?
PinkArt · 17/05/2021 00:06

Wait, there are people who can control the volume of their sneezes?!

Happymum12345 · 17/05/2021 00:19

People who say this is our forever home-who knows what’s around the corner? I’m such a miserable person!

Nesski · 17/05/2021 00:22

@PinkArt I know my husband can, although once in a while he does an "AIII-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" which makes me wince and think, why do you need to sneeze like that? I know you can do it a normal volume, like a normal human being!

SallyCinnabon · 17/05/2021 00:41

People not understanding the difference between pet hates and things that make you cringe 🤭

Youllsmashit · 17/05/2021 00:43

Pedantic people 🤣

Derbee · 17/05/2021 00:44

Christmas/New Year proposals. So cheesy and unimaginative.

3beesinmybonnet · 17/05/2021 00:56

People on Mumsnet who start their post with the words "I mean.......". As in "I mean - pair it with a red lip for a pop of colour and it would be to die for. " I can just hear their squeaky high pitched over emotional posh voice saying it and it just makes me shudder. And they're always thin.

Bastards.

Oh and people who post inane drivel on Facebook and finish off with "Night all xx" as if they think they have a massive audience hanging on their every word.

I think it's past my bedtime lol.

Paperreceipt · 17/05/2021 02:33

You mean “Please can I have ...?”

“Please may I have..?”.
