My 3 year old is still sleeping...

It's 9.53am. My 3yo is still asleep. This has never happened before (they're usually up 6.30/7am).

I've made myself coffee and toast. Had a lie-in. Caught up on work/emails. Watched some TV. Starting reading a book.

AIBU to gloat? Also, what should I do now? Feeling strangely lost as I usually have a little sidekick by now.

Is this what the teenage years are like?

Gosh! I’d be worried by now. My toddler tried to have a lie in the other day and turned out he wasn’t very well. Went and got him up and he was a furnace.

I’m a fan of the set wake times though, up at 7 every day no matter what, so I really noticed. If we were casual about wake ups I wouldn’t have realised until a lot later.

I'd still be asleep too! Enjoy it

My 4 yo loves a weekend lie-in. As do I. Enjoy!

I've been in and out a few times. Gentle snoring so still in a deep sleep. I've felt his forehead... it's not hot at all.

We had a very busy day yesterday with no nap (he sometimes naps, sometimes doesn't). We met a friend at the playground in the morning and then met grandparents at a country park a couple of hours ago in the afternoon... DC didn't get to bed until just before 9. I'm hoping he's just zonked. Isn't it typical? First proper lie in for a long time and I'm worried instead.

Just woken up... quite relieved actually!

My 2 year old does this sometimes. Just catching up on sleep when she’s gone without naps and we’ve had busy days. At first I worried, but now I just think “RESULT!” Grin

He's absolutely fine Grin. Bouncing around and causing trouble. Maybe this is the start of a new weekend habit (fingers crossed!). Probably just a one-off I should have enjoyed more!.
