@BrownEyedGirl80

I've called the examiner all the names under the sun since I've got home! Calmed down a lot now.Nearest test dates are September,I'll keep checking for cancellations.
They didn’t do anything wrong? I failed twice and never once felt the need to call the examiner every name under the sun. It was my fault I failed.
coffeefi · 15/05/2021 17:08

Argh! Sorry OP: it took me three goes over about 3 years. I was devastated after failure 2 You'll get there. Crap about the timing though. Maybe there's a cancellation soon

coffeefi · 15/05/2021 17:09

And I still struggle with parking

Namechange199x · 15/05/2021 17:15

I failed my first one. I was told to make a stop at the kerb and I stopped too abruptly and flew over the kerb.
I knew instantly I failed.
I said I failed and the examiner said: yep.

@Lockdownlifting12344555

Ooh what's that app please??

Looubylou · 15/05/2021 17:21

Better luck next time. I've been driving nearly 30 years and I still can't parallel park ☺️Infact I probably only try once every 10 years or so.

DaisyFeather · 15/05/2021 18:38

I failed first time because I put my foot on the break a fraction before the examiner and he ‘couldn’t be sure I’d stopped’ was so infuriating. I’d managed the whole thing with only two minors too!

whataballbag · 15/05/2021 18:39

I reversed into a lamp post on my first test Grin

AlmostSummer21 · 15/05/2021 19:46
@AlmostSummer21 I was so busy deciding whether to overtake a bus or just coast behind it right up to test centre that I pulled into a yellow grid with no clear exit which was instant fail. The rest of my test had been perfect Sad
Oh no, how bloody annoying!!

Another thing that would have been to have just been a reminder and a discussion about the best way to have dealt with the bus situation.

I really do despair with the things they fail
people for when so many drivers are driving FAR FAR FAR worse on the roads.

I know it's not a race to the bottom. But resources could be better used to improve the really dangerous driving!

Best of luck with the upcoming test 🤞🏼Do come back & let us know how it went!

AFS1 · 15/05/2021 20:08

I failed my first test...pulling out of the test centre!!
There was non-stop traffic and I thought I’d be failed for being too hesitant, so I shot out into a too small gap and half-mounted the pavement! The examiner made me go through the whole test, including all the manoeuvres, even though we both knew I’d failed.

stuckinarutatwork · 15/05/2021 20:12

Ah - I failed my first test on the parallel park too. 3 minors and the 1 major for very gently bumping the kerb during the parking manoeuvre.
I passed second time and have been driving for 25 years with no accidents so don't worry. You'll get there.

Watercoloursky · 15/05/2021 21:23

I went through a red light on my first go! But passed second time - I'm sure you will too, the first one is always nervy.

Cleverpolly3 · 15/05/2021 21:28

I nearly ploughed into a couple out with their baby in a buggy on my first test. In fairness I had a sneezing fit but it didn’t go down well. The father swore at me. Profusely. I asked the ex owner why he’d not used the dual control pedals. I actually think that also did as much damage

Second test was perfect

You can do it
All the best drivers fail first time Wink

Cleverpolly3 · 15/05/2021 21:29

*I asked the examiner

Feel it pertinent to point out I was 17 too Grin

TheGlitterFairy · 15/05/2021 22:20

I failed my first in the first couple of minutes also. Was my right of way going down a road where it narrows so only one car can pass at a time. Signs indicated my right of way so I progressed and a car in the opposite direction decided not to wait and so I ended up having to reverse as they wouldn’t move. So despite the fact they were in the wrong, I failed. Examiner reckoned I should have anticipated they we’re driving aggressively and therefore allowed them to come though anyway. I disagreed. Rest of the test was perfect aside from that and I had my second 6 weeks later which was the first date after. Passed no problem with that one. Some examiners are just arses - you’ll be ok next time I’m sure.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 15/05/2021 22:38

@LittleBlackSox it was said in private,in frustration
