In my Belfast school as teenagers we were taught about the Arab-Israeli conflict in GSCE history and politics to help us understand our own conflict - i.e. there's 2 sides to every argument and it doesn't matter how many bombs you throw at people, violent conflict will never result in peace.

This is simply untrue. The rockets being launched at Tel Aviv are developed by Iran, are 4-5m long and carry a 250kg payload which can destroy a building. It is launched by Hamas at civilian targets deliberately.

Israel is subject to criticism, but do it truthfully, not based on such gross misstatements of fact.

Yes just FYI Israel drop leaflets and send texts to try and advise civilians in Palestine to move out of the way as they are aiming for terrorist targets only. It is a tragedy that innocent peoples lives are lost. Israel need to take some responsibility for this but both sides do. Hamas are putting the people of Palestine’s lives at risk by attacking Israel. Israel will protect their own people and land at any cost because they have to. If Israel stop then Hamas will not do the same, they will keep firing rockets and kill as many Israelis as they can. They are a terrorist organisation and you cannot negotiate with them.

I don't want to get into a tit for tat conversation. There a clearly injustices happening on both sides to children and innocent civilians. I've not been untruthful in anything I've said I'm just trying to put forward that this isn't a case of two equal sides, it's a case of systematic repression on the part of Palestinian people. Anyway, its important to remember the origins of why this current period of unrest started and the history of the Palestine/Israel dispute. Google a map of the region and how its changed and look at what international law says. Also watch Occupation 101 on YouTube.

Of course it's not about god, it can't be there is no god. They all know that's a bloody smoke screen! It's about land and power.

I suspect it may be about land, power, God and history and evil.
