Apparently hugs are back from 17 May.

Aibu to think there are very very few people who have not hugged their friends / relatives for however long since the government said we last could?

I know I have. It's absurd that any government can tell us that we aren't allowed to hug our loved ones.

Haven't seen anyone to hug them - family are about 500 miles away and so just been hugging the household here. Saw in laws outdoors a couple of weeks ago and we didn't hug them either. It did feel a bit weird and I'm looking forward to giving my MIL a hug - we'll all be fully vaccinated by the next time we see them.

This thread has been good, actually, a bit more sensible and less packed with frothing I'LL HUG WHO I WANT YOU COVID LOVING CRAZY PEOPLE although I note a few have turned up on cue.

I haven’t hugged any friends or family (apart from DH and kids I love with) in over a year.

Most people have followed the rules in my experience.
