Evening all,

In our rental contract it says no noise that can be heard out of the property after 10pm, my partner gets cross when I say that we need to turn the music down after 10pm... says I’m boring/controlling.. am I being an arsehole? I don’t don’t think I am?

@Pinetreesfall

My rental contract specially states no noise audible outside of the property between 10pm and 8am. I get it though because the way our houses are laid out on a hill sound travels. The neighbours garden sits above my youngest boys bedroom and it drives me nuts in summer!

In properties I rent out we have a 'no disturbing/ unneighbourly noise clause' but it's not got a time restriction on it!

Tbh I wish the law was a lot stricter on this and allowed for quick evictions. Some people honestly do not deserve a home as they're inconsiderate fuckwits.

That clause will mostly likely be there due to previous issues. Keep it simple for your DP - turn it down else they will end our tenancy.

People like her partner don't give a shit. They don't give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves. Really wish such people could be readily evicted because they honestly don't deserve a roof over their heads.
