Back popping

Posting here to see if more traffic might help find someone who knows what this is.

I've posted about hurting my back before so I'll try to keep this brief. Back story is that I fell down the stairs when pregnant and landed straight on my tailbone. Also had SPD during pregnancy. Have been in pain pretty much ever since (4 years).
Recently the coccyx pain got even worse and has now resulted in me also getting sciatica due to the muscles swelling. But the thing that is worrying me is that in the last couple of weeks when I sit down something in my coccyx seems to 'pop' and feels like it moves to the left.

Is this something I need to really worry about or is it just normal because of the pain?

I used to have something like this, after a fall at an ice rink plus damage due to my work. It was a hypermobile SI joint. I wore a sacroiliac belt for a long time to support it, and it made a difference within just a few days.

Obviously I don't know if it's the same thing, but it's worth a try. I got mine at Amazon.

The first one I got was a serola belt, they are more expensive and came highly recommended. It did the job. I have a belly though, and my second one I bought a cheaper one that seemed more like it would work around it better, and it's just as good and more comfortable for me. But serola is definitely the brand leader.

Thank you. I will definitely look in to this!

I really hope it works for you. If you want to ask anything, feel free.

Oh, I should say I wrote it for a long time. I wore it all the time for maybe two years, and then just when I was working for maybe a year or two after that. I still have it, but rarely need it.

It could take a long time for it to heal fully (if this is what it is), but I got such a huge amount of relief just wearing the belt.

Thank you so much! Did you ever have an X-ray done? My dr sent me for one as he thinks the bone may be fractured but the hospital refused to do it because of the area it's in

No, I didn't. I never actually went to a doctor about it. I had considered getting an si belt for it, and asked a friend who is a physiotherapist what she thought. She did some tests, it took five minutes, and agreed that it would be the right thing. She was the one that told me that it was a hypermobile SI joint.

Oh ok that's good to know. I will definitely give that a try! I've tried physio, chiropractors, acupuncture, osteopathy ect and nothing is helping. It's starting to make my life miserable. I have two young kids (under 4) who obviously need constantly lifting and carrying and I feel like a rubbish mum because I'm struggling with that at the moment

That is no fun. As I say, it might not be the right thing but it's worth trying. Certainly a lot cheaper than seeing a chiro, and if it works, it will last ages. I'm on my third belt, but it has been years
