Beside myself with worry. Since March 2020 I have been having almost constant migraines/headaches, constant vertigo and dizziness and feeling nauseous. I also have brain fog all the time and am constantly tired. Plus I get clammy when the episode happens. I’m having a brain MRI this evening and honestly I’m petrified something is going to show up. It’s almost like a gut feeling I can’t shake it. I’m 31 and have ulcerative colitis and anaemia but these have been found not to be causing it. Not in any contraception either.

I feel so sick with worry I can’t eat and my stomach feels awful. Any tips or advice? Right now this is eating me up. 😩😩. It’s neurology that’s referred me so surely they think it’s something.

I felt exactly the same when I was referred for an MRI. I had been having episodes of vertigo, headaches, dizziness, etc. The consultant said he thought it could be MS and I was terrified (I'm early 40's) and my mum has MS. The results came back all clear and I've been diagnosed with vestibular migraine and take amiltriptyline daily and rizatriptan when I get a migraine. It's helped enormously. But the anxiety that goes with with dizziness is crippling. I hope your results are clear and they find the cause of your symptoms. It's such a horrible feeling to live with. Best of luck x

A big handhold from me. I totally get how worrying this must be.

LazyDaisy22 · 07/05/2021 19:53

I’ve had a couple of brain MRIs and have been diagnosed with Ménière’s disease. The brain scans were to rule out anything untoward rather than because they positively expected there to be anything there. Could that be the case with you, OP? That they are doing the MRI as a precaution? I hope it went well - it’s not pleasant - and that you get good news 💐

I got diagnosed with vestibular migraines initially but my symptoms didn’t fully match then they said it was labyrinthitis and that got ruled out. I honestly don’t know. I’m trying not to Google but it worries me especially after I lost a friend to MS 4 weeks ago 😢.

Thank you. I hope nothing comes back . Just annoying when the consultant hasn’t mentioned anything just said oh have the scan and come back. I had a CT scan last March when it first started and it showed nothing but I don’t wanna get my hopes up.

@CharlotteRose90 mine actually started about 2 years ago as labryinthitis - came on completely out the blue, A&E diagnosed it. Cleared up after about 2 months then had it again about 6 months later but nowhere near as bad and thats when I was referred to ENT consultant who said MS, had the scan and that came back clear, so then referred to neuro who diagnosed vestibular migraines. To be honest, since that first labryinthitis, I've never felt completely back to normal. I think I've just learned to live with it. I hope you find some answers and that they are not as you fear, I made the mistake of googling and thought I was ready to drop dead!! Good luck Smile

MeadowsInSunshine · 07/05/2021 20:12

Just to say that mine turned out to be migraines and vestibular neuronitis (or neuritis as some people call it). All the very best Flowers

Fingers crossed. I’ve accepted it now but if it carries on I can’t return to my job :( as the attacks happen at any time and floor me. It’s so weird. Will update as soon as I know hopefully.

How you doing OP?

@MamaBearThius

How you doing OP?
Hi, not well unfortunately. I ended up putting myself into hospital for 6 days with the stress. It flared up my stomach condition. Still haven’t got my results either which is worrying as I’m trying not to panic . It’s been a week since I had it and no results so far.

MamaBearThius · 17/05/2021 10:50

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that. Is your stomach condition linked? I've noticed I get very upset stomachs and sickness with the dizzy flare ups. Hope you're okay soon. Can you chase up the results?

OriginalTaste · 17/05/2021 10:57

Hi OP, following your thread as I have Crohn's Colitis and the same symptoms as you, that are regularly dismissed.

I am sure you will get the results back soon and all will be fine. Sending hugs

Hi, sorry I thought I’d updated. My scan came back as totally normal nothing to worry about and I was diagnosed with migraines. Was offered medication but I didn’t take it. Since then it has got better but not 100%. Still not got the full answers but it’s symptoms I can cope with. I’ve been able to live my life and work full time again so I’m happy.
