It’s fine OP. Not my cup of tea for myself but if I saw someone else wearing it I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Why are you battling with it?

Squiz81 · 06/05/2021 21:16

Not sure I’d want to buy anything from a company that cuts a chunk out of the models waist...or does the dress actually stick out like that?!

Mumdiva99 · 06/05/2021 21:18

I love it. I wish I could wear it. Enjoy the wedding.

passmethemilk · 06/05/2021 21:19

I love it. Can't understand the posters saying negative things about it!

h4ppy · 06/05/2021 21:23

@ifyoulikepinacolada

They’ve photoshopped a massive chunk of her waist out 😂

I think the print is bold enough that it’s fine to wear though.

Omg they really have! That's shocking!

It's a dress. It would be weird if we all liked the same things, wouldn't it?

To me it looks cheap and a little childish. Not to be harsh but since someone didn't understand, k felt I should explain!

It is far from awful, just not to my taste really, but that's how it goes with fashion. What I love, you might not, and vice versa Smile

TheLastLotus · 06/05/2021 21:25

@Unsubscribed the fact that it's white/cream..?
I've never been to a wedding in the UK before so I googled acceptable things to wear. Most posts say no white and white prints.. but nothing much about bold patterns.. thought I'd just check with the wisdom of the MN hive mind

Also quite interesting to see the divided opinion on whether dress actually looks good Grin

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 06/05/2021 21:25

Technically I think it's ok to wear to a wedding. But I just don't like the dress really. Looks quite dated

Surroundedbytime · 06/05/2021 21:26

It looks fine. Not my thing but if I saw you in it at a wedding I would probably think you looked lovely.

Cryalot2 · 06/05/2021 21:28

Its a print dress and very nice. Wear it and enjoy .

MarshmallowAra · 06/05/2021 21:30

There's nothing wrong with it for a wedding.

And it's great that you could pick any colour out of it for footwear and they should look ok.

I'd probably get a tulle petticoat for under it in one of the flower colours (or even white) but that's just me. There are lots cheap on eBay etc

Looubylou · 06/05/2021 21:34

Will you wear a short jacket and heels? I like it. It wouldn't suit me - I imagine a petite person.

LadyLolaRuben · 06/05/2021 21:36

I nice hat/fascinator and shoes will set it off lovely. A white wrap or something for warmth if its a cool day would be nice too. Id keep your accessories plain with having a pattern on the dress

MarshmallowAra · 06/05/2021 21:36

White is ok as guest if it's just the base for a coloured print like this.

I actually think this print would be lovely for a skirt (but a bit overwhelming for a dress) so I'd probably cover up the top with a coordinating cardigan/jacket/cape.

SnackSizeRaisin · 06/05/2021 21:41

It would not be inappropriate at all, colour wise. If the wedding is very formal you could smarten it up with a hat and jacket but to be honest I would probably wear it with a cardigan.
Bear in mind that many of the people saying they don't like it may well be much older than you and or overweight. You probably need to be reasonably slim and under 45 to wear something like that. As for saying it's dated..well that's ok as the whole concept of a formal wedding is pretty dated. No one really expects high fashion

NoProblem123 · 06/05/2021 21:42

I’d like it with a plain dark jacket & red heels.

It’s bright & fun & summery - perfect for a sunny wedding

SRS29 · 06/05/2021 21:49

OP it's lovely, pick one of the colours and buy a matching wrap to link the look and make an outfit. Enjoy the wedding 😊

shivawn · 06/05/2021 21:50

Perfectly appropriate, enjoy the wedding Wine

Happylittlethoughts · 06/05/2021 21:51

I dont think it would cross into the bride's white territory.
I really dont like it though.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 06/05/2021 21:54

It's fine OP. Not to my taste but I'm abit plain Jane and generally have no idea what I'm talking about anywho. But if I saw someone wearing it at a wedding it wouldn't strike me at all as inappropriate
