Under 30 and second dose - please help me feel better.

I’m 29, nearly 30 and had my first dose of Astra Zeneca in Feb. Due my second next week.

I am extremely anxious about it. I didn’t have any side effects after the last one other than some crazy palpitations a few days later - but this may have been purely coincidental as I do suffer with them anyway due to anxiety.

I know the risk of a blood clot is pretty low still.

I was given invited to get vaccine as I am unpaid carer. But I wish I waited so I didn’t get Astra Zeneca.

Any other under 30’s had the first Astra Zeneca and had it awaiting the second? How do you feel?!

Please reassure me! I am thinking of doing an e-consult with my gp surgery so they can help put me at ease but don’t want to waste their time.

I’ve read that a headache is a possible sign of a blood clot. But I suffer from Tmj disorder which can give me really bad headaches. I am very likely to get one after the jab so I’m already dreading the time after. Questioning whether it’s a blood clot or my TMJ. My TMJ causes me headaches that are worse she lying down which is noted as a symptom to watch out for too...

Advice? Help? Make me feel getter please.

Not an aibu sorry but worried it won’t be seen by a lot of people if I put this elsewhere.

@Smalldogbigdog

Personally OP, I'd wait until the pfizer jab was being offered and not get the 2nd dose of AZ. In my country, nobody under a certain age (maybe 50?) can get the AZ vaccine and if anyone has already had the first dose of AZ before the rule was brought in, they get the 2nd dose of pfizer. In my opinion, the UK is being reckless in offering the astrazeneca vaccine to those under 30, where the risk outweighs the reward.
More reckless than mixing vaccines when they haven't finished studying it?

Thanks all. You have made me feel little better. I know I will most likely be fine!

I’m 28 and had the first dose of AZ after the announcement that we shouldn’t. I was booked for it, went to the clinic with my colleagues and every single under 30 got it. There were doctors on site and I spoke to three or four, and colleagues spoke to others. Every one of them said they’d allow their child under 30 to get the vaccine.
The way he explained it, the risks of clotting aren’t necessarily any higher for an under 30, the risk/reward just isn’t as high. I might have misinterpreted but it convinced me enough.

After first az vaccine I was awful for a few days. Mainly migraine (I have had palpitations regularly since covid and despite ecg showing something dr still putting it down to covid)
Had 2nd az yesterday and a bit of a headache this morning but it could have been stress. I feel fine now .
So hoping all goes well.

Apparently everyone who has a bad reaction had it after the first dose. If you were ok after the first you’ll most likely be fine.

@Buby51

Thanks all. You have made me feel little better. I know I will most likely be fine!
Please do let us know when you are: it may help reassure others too!

(Note: when not if. I'm sure that if the first dose wasn't all that bad, the second won't be either.)

I may be wrong but when I had my second dose 4 or so weeks ago I was told there had been no incidences of
Clotting after the second dose
