I'm just being nosey. I just had my hair done and was chatting to my hairdresser and we started talking about work etc. and she said that she thought my employer was unusual with how flexible they have been/are and the general working conditions.

I think they are too and I really like where I work for a number of reasons but is it unusual? Do most people have difficult employer/bosses etc?

Most places I've worked have been really good and the ones that haven't I've left quickly but I was just musing and procrastinating.

What is the most valuable thing to you in your workplace? What will you not compromise on?

My company is great. It is a very small family company, there is only 4 of us running the business. Very flexible and understanding. As long as work is done promptly and to a good standard there are very few rules. We're a good team and keep each other in check.
It is a stark difference to some of the awful places I've worked.

My employer is really good, great working conditions, take great care of employees etc. Insisted on me taking full paid leave for my entire pregnancy (can't do my job from home) due to covid despite being in good health and fully vaccinated since January. My direct line managers are very professional and supportive.
