Sorry, not really an IABU at all but you there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic on the bed wetting forums or the answer there.

DS10 still sporadically wets the bed, fine but when we are at home but he has a 2 night school residential coming up. We've tried medication and that doesn't work so I am at my wits end with what to do as if he wears whilst on the school trip he'll be so embarrassed and something like that could potentially affect the rest of his school days if his friends see.

I've found pjama shorts online pjama.co.uk/what-is-enuresis/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImcKd0ve08AIVFO3tCh39pQvUEAAYASAAEgKDVvD_BwE which look good on the company video but get mixed reviews on Amazon and my word they are expensive!!! £80 per pair.

I've tried ordering washable incontinence pants but they've come and they are so bulky and crackly that they will be obvious. I also wondered whether adolescent period pants (the shirts type in plain black) might be an option?

Any help gratefully received, especially if you've tried pjama

I've not tried this particular product, but the advice from our enuresis clinic was not to use any kind of absorbent clothing or pullups like this, because that reinforces the subconscious message that wetting in bed is OK.

Have you had a referral to a clinic? I am guessing so as you mention having tried medication. I presume desmopressin? Have you tried a stronger dose? Our DC still wet with the normal dose but was put up to a stronger dose and it worked. Have you tried alarms? There's lots of different possible causes of enuresis and some solutions won't have an effect if the cause they treat isn't the issue - whereas sometimes the reason a solution isn't working is because there's more than one initial cause, so more than one simultaneous treatment is needed.

As a short term, one off solution, washable pants are a good idea. They definitely vary though.
Modibodi and Cheekywipes both make decent incontinence boxers for men.

Thank you both, we have been to a clinic to check for medical issues with scans etc and none found and our area discontinued general bedwetting clinics.

We've also tried an alarm but it stressed him and made him really tired which made the problem worse.

As I said, I'm happy to persevere at home, we just have the school 2 night residential looming

I was going to suggest an alarm. We struggled with DD1 for years but within 2 weeks of using the Rodger wireless alarm she was sorted.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but @Flumpaphone how did it go? In a similar boat here.

Thanks 😊

Resurrecting this again @Flumpaphone @ilovelibraries im in same boat xxxx any advice or view on the boxers v expenseeeef pjama bottoms? Thank you

We did this with DS when he was 8 or 9 maybe. Potty/toilet trained no problem but was such a deep sleeper he was in night pull-ups for years. The alarm thing worked in less than two weeks albeit with a couple of accidents. He was usually woken up in the night by the alarm going off from a tiny bit of wetness to go to the toilet but then he's been sleeping through ever since.

Thank you :). We have done the alarm thing which yes has worked: it took a while though. I’m just worried that he may suddenly wee himself while on a school trip out of the blue. But just not sure if the pjama bottoms thing (£80) is a better/more discrete option than a black sleep nappy.
