Hi so far we have been relatively and luckily unaffected by covid but my dc nursery has told them all to isolate for 10. Days as confirmed case within the nursery
But my older dc doesn't have to isolate she can still go to school is it just me or is this crazy and would you still send your other child to school ?? Confused would I be unreasonable??

Has the older child been in contact with the confirmed COVID case?

berryhead2013 · 04/05/2021 19:53

It’s pretty standard advice. When my daughter went into isolation my son carried in going to school and vice versa.

Thebig3 · 04/05/2021 19:56

Same happend with my DS, he had to isolate from nursery as a staff member tested positive. My 2 other children still went to school as normal.

Seemed crazy to me but those are the rules!

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 04/05/2021 19:59

That's correct. Only your dd needs to self isolate for the 10 days
But if any member of the household has symptoms then you all self isolate and that person tests.
Sometimes children have different symptoms to the main 3 so keep an eye out

Only the person in contact needs to isolate. The other parents can mind their own business.

BioTeacher2020 · 04/05/2021 20:41

Only the child who has been in contact needs to isolate. Otherwise where do you stop, you, your colleagues, their families?
