Just interested what hobbies you all have which keep you occupied!?

OP posts:
Hesma · 03/05/2021 21:38

I like reading, baking, listening to music, singing and going for walks either with friends or my music. As a single mum with 2 DDs (11&8) I don’t get time for much more 🙂

MyDogIsDrivingMeMad · 03/05/2021 21:46

It looks like quite a list, but my level of activity waxes and wanes over time, with one hobby coming to the forefront for a while and then being temporarily replaced by something else.

crochet and a little knitting
photography
quilting
reading
listening to music and podcasts (mostly while doing other hobbies)
playing music (by ear, as I'm not good at reading music)
diamond painting
gardening

Warhammer, drawing, knitting, reading, PlayStation

MedusasBadHairDay · 03/05/2021 21:50

Too many, and too little free time.

Embroidery, sewing, writing, drawing, gaming, reading, photography, coding.. there'd be more but like I say, no free time.

I'd like to learn to crochet, knit, dance (lindy hop especially), woodwork, etc.

Terminallysleepdeprived · 03/05/2021 21:51

I don't get free time for hobbies...unless the occasional long walk with the dog counts.

Mostly binge watching TV when insomnia hits and scrolling mumsnet

Catswithflamingos · 03/05/2021 21:53

Eating

Eggnoggoanngoanngoann · 03/05/2021 21:55

Reading, gardening, baking, walking, watching movies (sometimes again and again) listening to music or audiobooks, playing card games or games online.

AnExcellentWalker · 03/05/2021 21:55

Knitting. I used to sew but currently there's nowhere for my sewing machine since we moved house, we need shelves & loft boarding. Cooking & baking. I like to grow my own veg, mostly herbs, salads, things that don't need a lot of digging. And fruit. I make jam & pickles.

Youdontknowwhatyoureonabout · 03/05/2021 21:57

Yoga
Gardening
Reading

All very solo stuff.

Slippy78 · 03/05/2021 21:57

I've recently taken up lockpicking.

CurryLover55 · 03/05/2021 22:02

I don’t have any at the mo but really want to find a sculpture class - I did some as part of my NNEB & absolutely loved it. Also fancy learning Italian through Duolingo. Used to do karate & Pilates & would like to take those up again. I love reading but rarely have time these days sadly.

ghostyslovesheets · 03/05/2021 22:04

Aerobics
Running
Bootcamp
horse riding
Geek conventions
travel

Hobnobsandbroomstick · 03/05/2021 22:06

Walking, running, cycling, swimming, yoga. Learning a bit of Spanish on Duolingo app. I used to love reading, but have now switched to listening to audiobooks while walking or doing jobs around the house. Used to knit and sew a bit, but haven't for over a year.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 03/05/2021 22:12

I learned how to swim as a complete beginner when I was 47.

I’m now 50 and I try and swim as often as I can - hard with lockdown but my pool has just reopened.

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 03/05/2021 22:16

Reading. PlayStation. Doodling. Obsessing. Staring lovingly at my cat. Refreshing work email in paranoid terror. Going for a drive and listening to music. Daydreaming.

Angel2702 · 03/05/2021 22:18

Crochet, family history and reading mainly.

Fuckinellitsme · 03/05/2021 22:23

Playing bass
Playing guitar (though bass is 'my' instrument)
History stuff - so reading about periods in history I've an interest in (the Neolithic and medieval are my favourites, particularly the Wars of the Roses) and visiting museums/exhibitions/sites of interest
Reading generally (I read about four books a weeks usually)
Learning Gaelic
Writing
And I cannot wait to go to gigs again. I'd definitely say live music is a hobby of mine!

SionnachRua · 03/05/2021 22:26

Pole dancer
Penpalling
Gym
Gaming
KPop (though I don't count this as a hobby, more an interest)
While I wouldn't count it as a hobby, I do listen to a lot of podcasts!

Woodlandbelle · 03/05/2021 22:29

Upcycling furniture
Minimalism / decluttering (not sure that counts as a hobby but I read books about house interiors etc)

Used to love swimming but haven't been in a year.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 03/05/2021 22:29

Cooking
Watching telly

SuperCaliFragalistic · 03/05/2021 22:35

I've never quite "got" the idea of hobbies but I guess it's just something you enjoy doing. So if that's the criteria, rather than something you obsess about and schedule in lots of time for - which I think for some people that's their definition of a hobby, then I guess:
Swimming
Light gardening
Reading
Baking, cooking, devising my own recipes
Travel

But none of those things would i ever refer to as a hobby in real life.

Onedropbeat · 03/05/2021 22:37

Woodcut printing
Knitting
Baking
Gardening

oreo2020 · 03/05/2021 22:46

Cycling and motorbiking

sleepfortheweek · 03/05/2021 22:52

Golf
Running
Cooking
Cleaning
Online shopping 🤣
Art (pencil drawing mainly although I like painting too)
Binge watching tv shows
Browsing the internet
Drinking wine
Drinking beer
