I had a spot on my breast just a little lump no head. Stuck a sterile needle into it and squeezed and only a small amount of clear fluid came out.
The next morning it was green but hard and completely dry.
I put hot compresses on it which had no effect.

I put some savlon on and covered it over. Now it’s red around it but still totally dry. When I squeeze gently absolutely nothing happens.
The green bit is around the size of a 5p the red bit around the size of a £2 coin.
I have no signs of infection apart from the redness which is not spreading or tracking

Go to the chemist and get some mag sulph paste. Bang it on. Cover it with a plaster.

Is it sore?

Namech8nge · 03/05/2021 20:37

It’s not sore just a bit tender in the mornings because I sleep on my stomach. I’ll give that a go thank you

custardbear · 03/05/2021 20:41

Is it hot? May be starting to become infected. Personally I'd leave it til morning if it's just a bit red and green but always ring non emergency if you're unsure or worried

Shantotto · 03/05/2021 20:42

I’d get someone to look at that - maybe the pharmacist could?

1Morewineplease · 03/05/2021 20:43

I second magnesium sulphate paste.

Namech8nge · 03/05/2021 20:44

It’s not hot just ugly. I was thinking of going to the chemist but I can’t exactly get my boobs out in the middle of the shop and you can never tell properly with photos. I’ve ordered some magnesium sulphate online which will arrive tomorrow so I’ll give that a bash.

You have written that you found a lump on your breast. I would have any abnormality in breast tissue looked at by a GP.

Give it now looks infected, I would go to pharmacist tonight and/or emergency GP appointment tomorrow. Bit definitely a GP appointment as soon as possible.

Queenie8 · 03/05/2021 20:47

@Namech8nge it's your breast, it's a change, you really need to get it checked by the GP.

Looubylou · 03/05/2021 20:48

It sounds a lot larger than a spot, and it looks infected. I would definately get it looked at tommorrow at the latest.

Tomatel · 03/05/2021 20:48

Draw around the red area with a biro. If the redness has spread outside the line, get it checked out

LIZS · 03/05/2021 20:48

Gp asap. Looks infected.

SirGawain · 03/05/2021 21:02

@Shantotto

I’d get someone to look at that - maybe the pharmacist could?
😗 Are you suggesting that the OP rocks up to the Chemist and asks him (or her) look at her breasts?
SirGawain · 03/05/2021 21:06

Also, it’s not a great idea to ask for, or listen to, advice on a potentially worrying condition from random people on Mumsnet.

Shantotto · 03/05/2021 21:08

You don’t just whack them out in the middle of the chemist, they will have a wee private room or cubicle! I almost put that on my first post and then thought no I don’t need to! And I’m sure it could be done relatively discretely depending on where it is. Although in these COVID times they probably don’t want to get very close.

DinosaurDiana · 03/05/2021 21:08

The chemists tend to have a room that they can see patients in.

espressoontap · 03/05/2021 21:35

Where abouts on your breast is it? Could your underwire be rubbing or poss a bite which has gone nasty?

Any breast changes need reviewing ASAP. Draw a line round it to see if it gets bigger.

Floralnomad · 03/05/2021 21:38

Get it checked tomorrow and in future stop sticking needles in things , sterile or not .

Earlybirdmissedtheworm · 03/05/2021 21:48

My first port of call would be the pharmacy.
I had an issue 2 years ago on both my breasts, around my nipples and went straight to the pharmacy who knew exactly what to do.
Can't believe some of the childish comments about whipping breasts out at the pharmacy, obviously there is a discreet room and the pharmacists are more than qualified and also professional enough to see a breast and advise on things like this. If it's out of their remit they advise where to go.

Oneweekleft · 03/05/2021 21:52

My sons finger was like that and when i mentioned it going green to the doc he said he definitely needs some anti biotics. So i expect you might as well. Please ring your GP tomorrow. Also you could bathe it in hot (sterile) water and salt solution.

kelly14 · 03/05/2021 21:55

I had something similar many years ago on my breast and went to emergency doctor one New Year's Day. Looked very similar from what I remember and doctor was Certain it was irritation from fibres from bra. He gave me antibiotic cream and it cleared up quickly.

Happymum12345 · 03/05/2021 22:05

I have walked into a pharmacy and shown my breast at the checkout. I clearly have no shame!

TheVampiresWife · 03/05/2021 22:31

I had something very similar a few years ago - went to the gp who prescribed antibiotics. It cleared up within days.

choosername1234 · 03/05/2021 22:33

Agree draw around it tonight so you can see if it gets bigger or smaller overnight. Get it seen tomorrow - from what you've said so far, I'd probably prescribe you antibiotics for that

Tessabelle74 · 03/05/2021 22:48

Definitely see a GP. Any change in your breast should be checked out

Loubiemoo · 08/05/2021 09:20

@Namech8nge did you get it sorted?
