Every time I ever switch it on (not thy often these days tbf, as it’s deathly dull) she’s not there 🤷🏻‍♀️

Has she finally managed to get away from P.S

Is Mrs Hinch an ITV fave? I've not seen her on it bar a small bit on This Morning ages ago.

Definately · 03/05/2021 23:05

I thought she's been on it loads but admittedly I don't have the in-depth knowledge of This Morning that you seem to have.

I don't watch it much any more, . Usually at work, I remember her being on it once because she was awful. No in depth knowledge here.
Bigbluebuttons · 03/05/2021 23:16

This is why the Alan Partridge series “This Time” is so so perfect.

grantoderek · 03/05/2021 23:47

I love the BBC alternative. I have learned about giant slime, bees playing football and how the moon works. It's like a children's programme for adults. ITV is so dull, Covid, doctors, Covid, money. Covid, celebs. And the repellent Alison Hammond makes me want to eat my own eyes. Change channels, mornng live is ace!

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 09:26

@grantoderek I’ve never thought to watch bbc, although I might try. Have been switching to Jeremy vine...but just really want normal This morning with Eamonn & Ruth 🤷🏻‍♀️that’s the only time when it’s entertaining or enjoyable

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2021 09:27

I am about to go out but I have put BBC on and Gloria Hunniford has appeared before me doing some sort of Watchdog thing.

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 09:28

@Sparklingbrook I don’t see that at all, they’re natural and professional.
P.S just takes over in general and makes the whole thing awkward and a bit weird to watch. He takes over H.W and it’s unclear what her role is half the time, aside from the endless giggling and inside jokes between them..not comfortable for the viewer.

I even prefer Alison & Dermot to P & H. They both seem nice people and Dermot is fairly hot 🤣but overall, it’s glaringly obvious it should be E&R during the week and perhaps Alison & Dermot on Fridays. Time for P.S to step down now.

I have to say i watch very rarely. I might stick it on as background noise if I'm doing housework (like the radio I suppose) as long as it's not Eamonn and Ruth (don't find them natural at all-sorry). Every so often they'll have a guest on that I like or an interesting health item or something.

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 09:45

@Sparklingbrook in what way are they not natural though? It’s all out there, warts and all and pretty refreshing.
I used to like Richard & Judy too back in the day (was only a kid then really) I think it works quite well with a natural couple 🤷🏻‍♀️

It always feels as if Eamonn is about to say something cringey or put his foot in it, say something inappropriate etc. Makes me wonder what he's like at home. Him saying daft stuff and her eye rolling or them having a pretend marital disagreement just doesn't make for relaxing viewing.I think it's all an act sometimes.

Not saying that PS and HW aren't an act on This Morning. Just stick to the autocue all of them!

81Byerley · 04/05/2021 10:06
@SteveArnottsWaistcoat Yeah, you’re probably right there. Isn’t a regular thing, tbh, but home with my toddler so on days when we’re in, I catch it sometimes.
Why are you making excuses for watching day time telly? I don't watch in the morning, because I'm too busy reading Mumsnet, but watching daytime tv is perfectly reasonable when you're at home!
I remember a time when people would say stupid things like "Oh yes, we have a TV but we only have it for the news and for nature programmes", as if it made them better people somehow because they didn't watch the soaps. Too much snobbery and judgement , in my opinion.

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 10:09

@81Byerley Well, it is pretty crap in all honesty 🤣

@Sparklingbrook I really didn’t think it was fake arguments 🙈I agree that Eamonn does seem like a bit of a loose canyon though 😂I like him 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can imagine them bickering about it at home. 'I can't believe you said (insert Eamonn's foot in mouth moment)' and him pretending he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Hmm
But I don't want to hear tales of what goes on at home with them either. maybe I just prefer a non married couple. Grin

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 10:28

@Sparklingbrook 🤣Fair point, I’d go mad working with my Dp, no idea how they do it

Yes can you imagine? There's a married couple at work. Can't say 'ooh guess what happened at work today'. Sad
DH and i would last about 5 minutes if we had to work closely together.

littlepattilou · 04/05/2021 10:58

@Doyouevershutup

I don't much care if Holly has left. I used to quite like Holly and Phil together, but this past couple of years, I have got sick of them. I rarely watch it with them on now. Their ridiculous private jokes, and 'laughing fits,' and Holly's incessant squeaking just grate on me.

I will watch it with Ruth and Eamon, and I quite like them, and find them warm and friendly and good to watch.

I also don't like Rochelle Humes presenting it, as she is wooden and boring, and quite irritating. She tries to be all bossman and hard-hitting with her interview style, but she is like a year 10 school kid who has won a 'be an interviewer on morning tv' contest.

I can't stand Dermot O'Leary, and actually know a couple of people in real life who have worked with him, and they say he is arrogant and annoying, and full of himself. This one young woman I know, said when she was working with him a few years back, he said to her 'Smile! Things could be worse!' Yep, he told a pretty young woman to SMILE. VOM 🤢

I LOVE Alison Hammond, and could watch her all day. Funny, charming, warm, and adorable, with great interviewing and presenting skills.

But yeah, Holly and Phil can just go. I wouldn't care.

Doyouevershutup · 04/05/2021 12:22

@littlepattilou Totally agree with all your comments, aside from the ones about Dermot, sad to hear he’s like that 😬

I used to enjoy watching P&H up until a couple of years ago too, not sure what happened but I also started to really not be able to watch them, especially just over a year ago, it all seemed so fake to me and I can imagine they’re not that nice in real life, sorry if I’m wrong! Just a vibe I get 🤷🏻‍♀️

Adore Eamonn & Ruth, I see what she sees in him 🤣

Me too. It hasn't changed for years, needs a big shake up and some new faces.
