AIBU?

To help herself here when it comes to facebook?

Friend has depression and anxiety and is also single. She gets terribly upset when she sees happy couples on Facebook yet continues to stay on the site however upset it makes her. Aibu to tell her she needs to help herself and just come away from it entirely?

YANBU but she probably knows deep down that's what she needs to do.

YANBU at all. Why look at something that makes you miserable?

I don't think Facebook has any benefits. It only seems to make people angry, sad or jealous.
YANBU in advising your friend to live life without FB. I think in general it causes a lot of anxiety and exacerbates any mental health issues.

I enjoy facebook but I know it is not good for people who are unhappy as my friend is. It can be tough seeing how happy people are but without sounding heartless, she does have a choice as to whether she looks at it or not and continuing to look is self inflicted pain.

Is everyone on Facebook happy? I think not. Many people present themselves on it as they want the outside world to see them.
Not all that glitters is gold.

Maybe not everyone but a lot of us are happy and if that bothers people then they should stay off it.
