To worry for sister about the vaccine.

Hi just hoping someone can reassure me. My sister could have had the vaccine back in February but because she was suffering badly with her mental health, and still is, she never had it. At the time they offered it to her she fell within that age range. What I want to know is.....will she still be able to get it even though that “age range” has passed her by? I’m worried they might say “too late, you had your chance” type of thing. Obviously not in those words. 🙂

I saw a HCP on TV the other day describe the vaccine as an 'evergreen offer' meaning that you can request and book one if you initially didn't go but then changed your mind. Just give the GP a call and they will tell you when a slot is free.

Oh that’s good, thank you Pesky

Of course she can book it now still.

She can book her appointment here: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

They're really keen to get people in - if a vaccine hesitant person changes their mind and comes forward they're only too happy to oblige!

FlyingBurrito · 01/05/2021 18:58

They've said all along that you never lose your right to have it. They want everyone jabbed, there's no time limit or bar an changing your mind

Thank you all. That’s put my mind at rest, and hers too.

I work for a MH trust and have been working at the vaccination hubs. The team have been remotely attending MH wards to administer vaccines to patients under sections and inpatients. Poor MH shouldn’t stop her having the vaccine in medical terms. If her MH has resulted in her not wanting to make the decision at that time then she can book one at any time.
