Forgotten my keys, cannot get into the house

Birthday tomorrow (technically today!). Out with some friends tonight and realised just after midnight I had forgotten my keys. Tested my DH to let him know. No reply. Texted him a few times more and still nothing. Got home at 2.40am. Have tried throwing pebbles at the window for 30mins, calling him and even resorted to ringing the doorbell 5 times. Nothing. Now been outside for 40mins and currently sitting on the doorstep at a complete loss as to what to do. I know it's my fault I left my sodding keys at home (the last time I did this was probably about 6 years ago!) and things like this slip I guess when we have been out of the habit of 'going out'!. But I'm freezing and feeling really pissed off with DH now. AIBU?!

Have you got anywhere else you can go?

Nextdoorscat · 01/05/2021 03:23

No - everyone else I know will be asleep too. Thanks for replying though! Feeling ridiculous!!

Could you go to one of the friends you were out with?

Nextdoorscat · 01/05/2021 03:25

I will give it another 30mins and maybe wander over but everyone will be long asleep I fear. Certainly no one replying to my WhatsApp x

I done this to my husband before, he never takes a key and in usually awake when he gets back, but this time I had fallen asleep and my phone is set to silence calls and notifications after a certain time.

He was only out there an hour, but I felt awful.
He ended up playing music through Alexa to wake me up.

Nextdoorscat · 01/05/2021 03:26

That's so clever!! I'm not connected up to his Alexa though... thinking about how I might do this....

Are any windows open you could try climbing in through?

Keep ringing the doorbell.

Can you try and ring the house phone? Or if you have an Alexa as a pp suggested can you play music through it?

frazzledasarock · 01/05/2021 03:30

We’ve all got the Alexa app and the Alexa s in each room appear on it, then we can select a song and play it on who her Alexa we want

MoppaSprings · 01/05/2021 03:32

Have you got Spotify that has been played on any devices in the house. You can select which device to play it on

Emmas85 · 01/05/2021 03:32

If you have the Alexa app you can call other Alexa devices of people in your phone book. I found this out by playing around on my app. Press communicate at the bottom of the screen on the app. Could be worth a go?

I am now shouting through the letterbox and nothing!!! I have 2 DC too who are clearly sound asleep!! And I need the toilet!
